Short Period

Hi guys, so my period started on Monday, it was quite heavy but not as heavy as it used to be, day 2 was mediocre, it was mostly brown in colour and when I changed this morning and checked there’s nothing there. My period was 2 days long, I’ve always had regular periods, they always used to last 5-6 days. Heavy the first few days and weak the rest. As my pain has gotten worse and I mean agonising, especially in my lower right abdomen, back and leg, my periods have started to shorten. Every time the pain progresses my periods get weaker. I get all the horrendous pain still only a lot worse than ever before and my ovulation time has always caused pain but nothing like it does now, now it’s unbearable. Has anyone else had this or what could it be?

Hiya, I’m sorry to hear that but I completely understand this as the same thing has been happening to me for a while, my pains don’t correlate with my period as last couple months I’ve been bleeding like 3x in a month and when it does come it only lasts for like two days which I found bizarre. I was told it could be because of the endo suppressing that area and causing pressure on my ovaries and uterus and having a wide spread there, I also get that as my ovulation has gotten a lot worse ever since the endo has got worse. Have you spoken to any specialist? Or your gp? About this? Are you on any specific medication? As some of my medication messes my up cycle at times. Hope this helps! X

Hiya! I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing this too! All my doctor gives me right now is painkillers to help the pain, I decided a plant based diet might help but this was happening before I started it. I’m not too sure why it’s happening, but my periods just come and go so quick without any major bleeding anymore but the pain is continuous through the month. It flares up and gets unbearable and other days it’s bearable, I’m almost sure there’s Endo around my right ovary as when I get a flare up it absolutely kills. Maybe that’s what causes it, I spoke to the doctor yesterday regarding the pain and all they ever say is try the pill (that makes me feel worse) or try new painkillers. The short cycles have only started happening since the pain got worse so it makes me think it’s spreading and causing these problems x

Thank you it is really hard but I’m glad to know other people are in the same boat! Oh right yeah that’s what they were keep saying to me and I was keep getting brushed off with medication which was not effective at all. I’m currently getting treated in London now with endometriosis specialist and they are really helping! Maybe ask for your doctors to refer you to endometriosis specialist who know more?! And oh really I also did a plant based diet and had to go gluten and diary free as I was intolerant to a lot of things which helped the bloating and the sickness to an extent. I completely get that because mine is the same and changes a lot! Bless you! I 100% get that as I’ve also been experiencing pain everyday and this has gotten worse every since my conditions has gotten worse. Have you had any scans or surgery to confirm? As I also had a lot on my right ovary as to why there is a lot of pressure all the time, and recently found out that there has been more complications. Yes I’ve been on the pill aswell I had to take it continuously without a bleed but it wasn’t effective at all! And I’m not sure 100% but I think so as it may be spreading a lot more as mine got worse when it spread a lot more! Then I was told to stop the bleeding completely by the specialist? Have they told you to do this? X

Hi! I have the same issue. I have more pains with periods, ovulations, but I have less bleeding than it was before the pain started. What kind of examinations did you have so far? Are you sure it is endimetriosis? I read everywhere endometriosis causes more bleeding, or normal, but I had normal bleedings before last July, started to have pelvic pain and so far the bleeding intensity and quantity lessens.
