On my first ever smear last year I got abnormal results, it said low grade so had to wait 2/3 weeks for colposcopy also painful sex, bleeding after sex, spotting during periods etc, when I had my first colposcopy they actually said it was high grade & in fact the doctor that done mine said it looked like very very early cervical cancer, thank god my biopsy came back as moderate changes, so had a repeat in 6 months & it came back better at mild changes, I am having another colposcopy in November so hopefully it’s resolved itself, I thought the worst too. Hope things go well for you x
ive always had some pain with sex which i related to my tilted uterus and possibly having endo, ive dealt with a lot of endo symptoms since i was younger. pretty much all of them. now im having an anxiety attack about this pap. i have to go on thursday for the colposcopy
When I had the colposcopy I told her I was bleeding after sex and spotting etc & she showed me a little lump on my cervix & said that was the reason for the bleeding. But since I’ve been fine no spotting or bleeding after sex I was told to eat blueberries, strawberries & raspberries daily by the nurse, not sure why but apparently they are very good for cervical abnormalities & the only thing I changed was eating blueberries daily & my results were better this time than last, I thought exactly the same thing and drove myself crazy for weeks ringing for the results nearly everyday. I’m sure you will be fine xx
I had similar symptoms and high grade cell changes at my smear test. But I contacted Jos trust cervical cancer expert team (you can find it on their website) and they said that the smear results and my endo pain were likely separate.
I had a Lletz procedure and now I’m all clear! I still have the endo pain though.
Only around 30 percent in the cases caused by STD. It is a really big misbelief to think only STD can cause PID. You can have pid without any stds. I read a lot about it. I can only find womens with pid without std on the internet.
It is quite difficult to get diagnosis sometimes becasue there is not a specific test for it. Obviously they test you for std, can do ultrasound (but ultrasound usually shows if you have TOA a compliaction of pid) and blood test with the inflamatory markers. But maybe the most "specific" test for it if the doctor do a bimanual examination and directly want to find if you have pid symtoms like pain if they press around uterus, ovaries.
