I’ve been given tramadol by my dr to help with people. Relief which is great but I’m actually nervous to take it.
My mum had horrific side effects on it -throwing up. So I’m a bit nervous

Could you take half/quarter the dose you’ve been told to, to see if it gives any effects?
Be very careful with Tramadol. It’s highly addictive for some people because it’s opiate based. It made my head buzz, skin crawl, vivid dreams....and should be taken with precaution. Never ever drink if you’ve had Tramadol. Have you tried a TENS machine for extreme flares? Or a Livia device? They enabled me to come off any strong meds. A change of diet. A very strict change cutting out inflammatory triggers can work wonders for endo cramps and bloating but you need to be in the right head space. Nina.
I used to take it but the side effects were horrible, I’d projectile vomit and feel nauseous for hours. I haven’t touched it for almost 2 years now, however it does work for some people
Hi i have severe endo and a number of other problems. I have been pn tramadol for 2 years now and i did get bad headaches from it but if you can take paracetamol with it it help alot. Every medication has side effects. If you find it too strong go back to your gp. Hope this helps.
Everyone reacts for medication differently. I have taken tramadol before for back pain and it was a god send for me! But some people do have side effects. Just be careful, there is no harm in trying, if in a couple days you don't feel right then stop and ask for different options.
hi. I was the same, really didn't want to take it but I was finding just getting up to the bathroom beyond painful, I was starting a few things at once but for two weeks I felt awful, was going to stop taking them but the endometriosis nurse said stick with it and at the start of the third week I saw an improvement and by week 6 I was back walking the dogs. I did have bad days and I learnt not to miss a dose as the pain would creep in but it got me through the 6 months surgery wait. I was very lucky and had no problem stopping but the hospital had support in place to deal with the withdrawal if I needed it. I also used diet to reduce flare ups. Xx
I started taking today! No bad side effects apart from sleepy ness
