Easing into sex?

Ok, little graphic but I’ve been really struggling with painful sex for the last six months to the point that we stopped doing it. Yesterday we tried again and I found being in control and easing it in slowly like literally getting used to an inch at a time really helped - still painful but easier. Has anyone else found this??? Thanks!!!

Different positions can be more comfortable you just have to try things out and see which is best for you.....Do you think because you were more in control it might have helped you relax a bit more making it more comfortable.

There's nothing worse than being tense before you've even begun!!!

I think it was easier for both of us because my boyfriend wasn’t panicking that he was hurting me - I went as far as I could bit by but, took longer to get going but we weren’t complaining🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe him going straight in made me tense up and then it hurt from there, who knows - I’m just relieved to know there’s at least one position I can do fairly comfortably🥳

Any position when I'm on top suits me too as I can control depth etc, only advice I would give is avoid missionary because that can really hurt at certain depth positions, but that's just my experience. Talking to your partner always helps, and plenty of lube of course Xxx

Yes definitely, we communicate well so it’s all good and lube is a must in the bedroom for us! Thanks lovely xx

I really recommend seeing a pelvic floor physiotherapist. I saw one due the same issue and it’s helped me to the point where sex is pain free 95% of the month.

From my personal experience I would encourage you to do a bit of self warm up (If you know what I mean) before having penetrative sex, a physio will show you how to do this.

Lube is a must.

Relaxation is a must, even taking 10 deep belly breaths before sex will relax your pelvic floor (another physio trick).

Also look into reducing pelvic pain in general, I found I was very constipated and when I fixed this I found sex was less painful too.

Also certain foods increase pelvic pain, like gluten and dairy; maybe try experimenting with removing these from your diet and seeing how it affects you.

Great sex is definitely possible! I wish you all the luck xx
