Hiya, would be good to hear about anyone’s experience of bowel endo and pregnancy? I’ve heard that a lap might help with pregnancy but the endo nurse also told me because I have deep infiltrating endo that this could be a risk and potentially damage my organs - she advised it might be best to try to get pregnant first. Would be helpful to know what others experience / understanding of this is. Thanks so much x

Bowel endo and pregnancy
I have deep infiltrating endo but I conceived naturally after 2.5yrs and had no problems during pregnancy or the birth. I did have excision surgery just over a year after giving birth tho x
Thank you for sharing. Do you know if the endo has delayed pregnancy at all? Were there any risks with the surgery? Only if you want to share of course..
Defo think endo was a factor in taking so long to conceive. We are trying again but no luck and it’s been 2 1/2yrs...🤷🏽♀️
It’s different for everybody tho- some conceive quicker and some don’t. If u r in pain u may be better having surgery before falling pregnant ?
There’s always risks with any type of surgery, my surgery ended up being 8hrs long as had to have a colorectal surgeon as well as a urologist involved as all my organs were fused and they couldn’t distinguish what is what. I have had minimal pain since so it was definitely worth it.
Hi, I have stage 4 deep infiltrating endo found during excision surgery with an endometriosis specialist. I had it in my bowels, intestines, urethra, appendix and bladder. I had trouble conceiving for years that is why I had the surgery, 8 months after surgery I did ivf with a frozen embryo transfer and it was a success! I had no complications during pregnancy. It’s been 2 1/2 years since my surgery and still feeling pain free. It seems so many people have different scenarios and can get pregnant easily with stage 4 but for me it just was not happening I’m glad I got the surgery though, best of luck to you!
