Ladies, please help. I have bad endometriosis and one of my ovaries isn’t working! I’ve had 3 laparoscopies. I am currently trying to get pregnant. Has anyone here got pregnant with endometriosis and how long did it take? My partner and I have been trying and trying but no luck at all yet

Thanks all

Hello, I expect it's all so different for everyone. I was counselled for fertility after they found adhesions on an ovary & it took me 3 years to get pregnant but I was advised I could get more help after a year of trying, I just didn't accept. I got pregnant for a 2nd time after trying for a couple of months. That same ovary was since found to be stuck to my uterus & I'm confident it was never producing eggs.

Ok thank you. Yes I understand everyone will be different I just wanted to see if it affected anyone else as much. I still keep hope, but now we feel is the right time for children. I’m hitting 30 next year and I know as you get older it’s harder anyway. I’m now concerned I’ve missed my chance. We did want more than one child but what will happen will happen. A normal woman can struggle so with endo aswell it’ll be harder. I just hope it can happen for me. And potentially second time round. I thought after one it might not happen again but it did with you. Thank you

I wish you all the best with it! I was 33 when I had my first if that is of any help. I was able to make peace with the idea that what would be would be so, I was super shocked both times I got pregnant!! My Aunt was in a similar position to me & wasn't able to have "her own" but she was very maternal & happy to adopt in the end x

Ok brilliant. Thank you for your advice. Seems like you were same age as me. I will see how it goes and what happens. Otherwise I am happy to look into other options, although not the same. Xx

It took me 3 years to conceive my first and that was after a failed IVF cycle I had surgery to remove the endometriosis and fell pregnant the next month. This time round after coming off the progesterone only pill after breastfeeding for 22 months it took me 3 months to get a period and I fell pregnant the first month although I was in talks with my specialist about another surgery due to my pain being back and it potentially being on my diaphragm so this pregnancy has been quite painful and uncomfortable but once bab is here I will hopefully get booked in to get It all removed again x
