Pregnancy and umbilical endometriosis

Has anyone managed to fall pregnant with umbilical endometriosis?? Feeling very disheartened after my appt being told they won’t operate at the moment as I’m trying to fall pregnant I’m concerned that having this with no treatment is going to stop me getting pregnant anyway 😭

I am 32. And them nodules started growing in my bellybutton last year... I went for scans had biopsies and it came back as umbilical endometriosis. I was about to go for a laperoscopy.... But found out I was pregnant last week. After 2 years. So it doesn't stop fertility. Worried how my belly button will turn out a few months in 🤦🏼‍♀️ but other than that they think it should be a normal pregnancy :)

Oh wow thank you for getting back to me congratulations by the way you have given me some faith .. we haven’t fallen pregnant yet and apart from the belly button pain my symptoms haven’t got any worse yet so am hoping that I can fall pregnant and not have to have the surgery... I hope you have a wonderfully pregnancy good luck with everything ❤️

Hi, can I ask how your pregnancy went with the nodules? I’d love to TTC but I’m worried about how the pregnancy could affect the nodules?

I’m in a similar place. Trying to get pregnant and worried that this primary umbilical endometriosis is affecting things. Consultant told me not to go for laparoscopy unless I was having fertility issues. I hadn’t started trying to get pregnant yet. That was seven months ago and pregnancy hasn’t happened yet. I had the lump excised locally last year and it has grown back. It’s not very big, but the pain is just so uncomfortable. I’m considering going for laparoscopy but unsure if it’s necessary. Going to my GP tomorrow. It’s hard to know if this type of endometriosis affects fertility!

Have a diagnostic lap. You could have Endo elsewhere on uterus, ovaries and not know and that could be why you are not getting pregnant. I was diagnosed with umbilical endometriosis. I had a laparoscopy and it was everywhere: Uterus, ovaries, bladder, bowel, POD. if you are not pregnant in a lot of pain it's worth having a lap. But waiting for surgery will take time on NHS. If not in pain, keep trying TTC and see what happens. I was not ready to get pregnant when I was diagnosed but I did have a lap before I did TTC and got pregnant naturally 5 months later. I now have a healthy happy 3 year old. Good luck what ever you choose to do x

Thanks for the reply I ended up, after being seen by the most amazing consultant, having my belly button removed due to the size of the endometrioc lump that had formed, they did a diagnostic lap whilst they were removing my belly button and found endo in my pelvic wall and pelvis which they removed. Have to say that the pain afterwards was practically non exististes whilst recovering and now I’m all

Healed up my belly button, or what they’ve made for me looks great, I don’t have any swelling or pain at all now I have fallen pregnant twice since I last wrote but have unfortunately had a miscarriage with both pregnancies so am crossing my fingers that soon I will get a viable full term pregnancy I have a follow up and fertility check up with the same consultant next month so will see what he says
