Hi everyone, this is a bit of a long story but hope you have some advice...
So, in August last year I had to have a termination which was the most traumatic experience of my life. I then bled for a month which is normal and then had my first period in October.
For 2 months my cycles were apprx 50 days. Then in Feb it was 32 days. I then didn't have a period until May/June (I presumed down to stress) but it wasn't really blood, it was like brown/old bloody, but no fresh blood. I did have a period this month but I've noticed that I keep spotting. I get cramp pain waves and then I go to the toilet and i'm spotting. I also have been spotting after sex too.
I have excessive facial hair which I have been to my doctors about. They've tested me for PCOS and my hormones come back normal. They have also told me that due to me being overweight, they can't do anything.
If you can offer me any advice, I'd really appreciate it. I'm a bit anxious and my doctors aren't really saying anything?

Hi Becca. this sounds really horrible and i'm sorry you had to go through that. I had a similar experience to you and it was beyond traumatic, i know how you must feel. x
With spotting, I can't say why its happening with you but it's something i got after doing exercise and sometimes after sex. It became more frequent last year which was why I started researching my symptoms and came to the conclusion I probably had endo. I asked my GP to refer me to gynaecology to start this process, and I'm now 5 days post op where they found a lot of endo that had been there for years as well as a lot of polyps in my womb. I'm telling you this because for me, doctors kept telling me I was 'just tired' 'needed to drink more water' and to take it easy. If I had taken their advice I would have ignored my body trying to tell me things and I would have become much more ill and probably got even more serious illnesses down the line.
So I encourage you to look into your symptoms like I did and also ask to get referred to gynae where they actually specialise in these issues. It can be incredibly lonely going through this all on your own but so many women go through this and we shouldn't have to accept the blank faces we get from doctors who can't help us. We need to demand help or they won't go out of their way for us.
Good luck and don't forget if you ever need advice or support there's a community here who know what you're going though.
