So I had my laparoscopy yesterday. Results weren’t good. Endometriosis was found and they scraped some away, I have blocked Fallopian tubes plus a spongy womb and one tube/ovary was stuck to the uterine wall? Think that’s right. Was a lot to take in. Made some notes but have no actual Drs report to refer to.
I was meant to have a polyp removed but strangely wasn’t there. They explained that depending on when you have a scan in the cycle there can be an appearance of polyp and so wasn’t there yesterday. Luckily I have a scan that proves there was something there when I had it done in Feb.
So I guess this means for me that pregnancy will be harder. Harder to get pregnant and higher risk of ectopic pregnancy. They said IVF is an option if I didn’t fall pregnant naturally (don’t have a partner) or early scans to make sure wasn’t ectopic. IVF sounds like the option for me either with future partner or as solo mom with donor but it’s a lot to take in. I had no idea I had any issues. I’ve had painful periods since I started aged 11 though they have improved over the years, some months I can be fine and have no pain once period has arrived so hit and miss.
Part of me feels ok cos I know now and can move forward but still not easy stuff to hear.
