I was prescribed notethisterone to stop the break through bleeding at the same time as the pill of the same name. I didn’t take the pills to stop the bleeding as it calmed down as soon I was prescribed them, recently the bleeding has got worse again. I am two months into the birth control tablet but the bleeding hasn’t calmed down since it started again after a few days from taking the first pill. Is it safe to take the ones to stop my bleeding now or is this dangerous?
I hate having endometriosis and have no idea what to do now as I was told this was the only effective method due to the issues that run in my family and the other form of contraceptives

Hi Megan how are you? Just came across your post whilst searching on here. I’m struggling with breakthrough bleeding I’m on norethisterone 2-3 times a day have been taking it for months non-stop. I have severe endometriosis that isn’t responding to any treatment. How is your bleeding now? Did anything help ease it? Any advice is greatly appreciated thanks X
Hello, I’m good thank you, how are you? I was on the norethisterone tablets 2-3 times a day for several months then my doctor told me I had to stop taking them. I then moved onto the contraceptive norethisterone pill. This worked for a while then over the last few months it’s given up working and I’m bleeding more of the month than not again and it keeps getting heavier. The bleeding also brings with lots of intense pain.
Nothing seems to be easing the bleeding now and I’m getting annoyed having to keep going back to the doctors about it
in regards to advise all I can really say is see your doctor again to see what they can provide you with because no matter how much they keep telling me it’s normal, it really isn’t
