I had my first laparoscopy in September. Endo is now confirmed. I started I really strong contraceptive which has halved my pain, but I'm bleeding constantly - and I don't mean spotting.
It's been a few months now and I'm still bleeding, with cramps every now and then. I'm starting to wonder if I should ask the doctor to check things out with some scans, and make sure there not something else going on too?
Also if anyone has thoughts on TENS machines, Id love to know if it's helped at all..

Definitely sounds like a good idea to get checked out if you are bleeding constantly. Also whether you may want to have a further surgery to remove endo.

I find TENS very helpful, for immediate pain relief. Not everyone likes the sensation, which can range from a tingling to a stronger sensation that 'blocks' the pain signals.
I think some physiotherapists offer TENS therapy, which might be a way to see if you want to invest in a unit. I can't live without it myself and have a high quality tens specifically designed for pain.
I have been posting on here and it seems there are others that use this no medication pain relief. Have a look for TENS in the recent posts.
Do keep in mind where you apply it it you've had lap surgery recently at stronger settings tens can make the muscles contract. Best wishes with managing your endo.
I will also add TENS is especially good specifically for nerve pain, which can be difficult to treat. I use one to get to sleep on bad nights or for immediate relief while waiting for oral analgesic to work. It is a major problem if I run out of TENS pads or do something very silly like drowning the TENS unit in a hot cup of tea...
This is super helpful to know, I also struggle at night sometimes when the pain makes me sweaty and a hot water bottle just makes me feel sick, and the pain medications have to be taken with food (and eating purely to take painkillers is not a healthy meal plan in my opinion haha) - so I'm definitely interested in the TENs machine, is there a brand you would recommend? Amazon has lots that vary in price ...
Petit-ange, are you in the UK? I absolutely rely on my TENS (if you searched the recent posts you will see the thread). I use a Med-Fit 3. Med-Fit supply to the NHS, though I had to buy mine off amazon. I previously had a Med-Fit 2, which was good, but the advantage of the Med-Fit 3 is that it has more modes, including an auto varying strength mode which is useful if you are using the machine for hours at a time. I can't speak for any other machines out there or how mine compares, but it has made the difference between being up and about and lying in bed all day.
The machines can take a bit of fiddling with -but the default settings are pretty good. Hope264 mentioned muscle contractions - and this can be a bit of a problem on the abdomen (not so much on the back/Hip). Generally careful position of pads and a higher Hz setting (150Hz plus) will help lessen muscle contractions. Low Hz settings are used to stimulate muscles (a bit like those slendertone gadgets!). That can be used for physio injury recovery, but isn't what is wanted for nerve pain relief. The higher HZ settings are what is needed.

I have been bleeding for months too and have endometriosis and adenomyosis.
I am on the pill but it doesn’t take away all of the bleeding and pain unfortunately.
A tens machine is great for some relief when you are sore, I would see your GP as they need to know what’s going on as it’s not normal. I am also going to see mine soon! Let me know what they say xx
They are aware, it's why we are trying the stronger pills, but something isn't quite right. I have been reading about adenomyosis, how were they able to diagnose you in the end?

I had an MRI and diagnosed with adenomyosis, it’s really difficult living with these conditions isn’t it and I am grateful for this site. Otherwise I don’t know anyone else with the same problems as I do xx
Now You really need stop the period for 1 year after laparoscopic surgery. This is the process. Tens mechine not stop period. Now you can be go for combination pill like 21 tablet. Ask your doctor for best combination pill. Try mini pill dienogest 2 mg for continuously without break for one year. Two tablet per day. Please tell me what kind of combination pill now you are taking (contain). Go to clotting time blood test. Now you are sexually inactive?. Take rest.
Yeah that's what we are trying to do. I tried ovranette first, but it was still bleeding and too painful. So now I am on lizinna 250/35, which has been really good for pain most of the time, but I'm bleeding constantly so it's safe to say I have no interest in having sex when im like this.
I am aware of the risks with higher dosage pills, we are keeping tabs and I know what to look out for.
My concern is that perhaps we missed something, like cysts or polyps.
Yes ask for a scan and a smear if u not had one in a while.
I have same problem, i have bled for 7 months now, it can go from days of spotting , days of full bleeding then nothing for couple of days but it not a normal monthly period, which for me is strange as i am 28 day Monthly Cycle , DEAD ON.
I was told it was my age, 44. perimenopause.
I have endo but not alot , just in left side of uterus ( still extreme pain though) , got diagnosed many moons ago now also have pcos but again only on one side( left again).
Just before xmas i was at end of tether i had bled for three weeks and my hormone were all over the place . They sent me for bloods and scans and a smear , all clear!
So no menopause. No cancer .. no cysts but i said “ i cant put up with this constant pmt, moods, and bleeding” So i am on pop pill, ( degestrol) i only been taking 3 weeks and it has stopped the bleeding and my moods are normal.. i actually feel NORMAL...
First time in 7 months...
So u must go and see doctor, get the more serious stuff out way first then if nothing then just try to get bleeding under control.
I was told that this pill if taken right ( ie same time every day) it can b brilliant but if u miss or get it late it can bring on periods. Ive been dead on, i set my alarm to take at 8pm every night( so not on empty stomach)
Dr also mentioned if i was lucky alot of people stop having any at all... which im hoping for as mine have got seriously painful.
TENS machine are briliant... also i have a mini ultrasound machine i got my husband for a ankle injury for inflammation and i use that on my groin ( ovaries) and it seems to ease the pain. Also i gently massage the area. Take buscopan and it seem to stop cramps
In all fairness the pill I'm on is all good for my moods, but the constant bleeding can make me feel drained, deflated and unattractive. I agree it's worth pressing them to double check some things to be sure.
