I am waiting surgery to remove large endometrioma from right ovary. I’m on 4th month of Decapeptyl and I finally got help from Doctor last week who has put me on HRT Tibolone to help with the side effects.
I got the call and surgery is in two weeks, Do I have to stop my HRT tablets before surgery? On the packet it says I have to stop it 4 to 6 weeks before surgery. I have been waiting two days for the doctor to get back to me. I don’t know if I should carry on with them or not.
Does anyone have experience with this?

It's worrying enough the surgery never mind the hormone side of things to worry about as well. I am awaiting word for a 3rd surgery. I was on femston when I went 1st time for ovary and tubes removed. The surgeon said after he didnt realise I was on it!!! The 2nd op was open abdominal surgery with vertical incision to remove uterus other ovary and omentum, for that one I had to come of it. I read the reason was for fear of clots. Also read that the majority of clots is 95% imbolity 5%hrt. l was given injections for 4 weeks after to inject to my tummy to help prevent clots.
So think depends on the surgeon and other health factors and lengthy of operation. Good luck. Hope you get more answers that more clear.
Keep trying the surgery, but also you should be able to contact the place you are having the surgery and ask what the consultant wants you to do.
If you dont have the direct number try the hosptial switchboard and ask for the dept or if you have the name, the consultants secretary and ask them.
Be sure to stress when you are being seen to anyone you talk to so they are aware you need answers asap. Also take names just incase you have to refer back to them.
Dont give up until you get your answer I know its a pain and you may feel like you are bing a nag but you need this information, and you need it sooner rather than later.
