So has anyone spoken to their specialist or seen any info about endometriosis and covid 19?
I'm asking because work has flagged me as having a pre-existing condition - endometriosis. But I'm not sure whether endo makes us more susceptible to the virus. Basically they're starting to suggest people to work from home.
I do have more frequent colds and have been in hospital with influenza type B previously. I'm not sure if it's worth trying to get in contact with my specialist to find out what to do - I've been signed off so haven't seen him for just over a year.

The rest of my family are office based workers and they'll be working from home from tomorrow. I'm semi dreading the house being full day to day. Let's hope this virus passes soon.
I have stage 4 deep infiltrating endo. I had surgery on the 5th March 2020 to have endo surgery, have my organs unstuck and my fallopian tube removed. I also have endo CFS. Does anyone know how long my immune system will be down?
Same here, I had surgery on the 6th and feel like Im still not 100%... your immume system should be back to full strength after another week or so.. My work has told me to work from home when my sick note is up anyway just im case which is from monday.. i ordered zink and vitamin d spray try and get a bit healthier. hope this helps xxx
Thanks Nettkins, my office has now closed so I reckon by the time we are all allowed back il be ok. I just wasnt sure as I know they were trying to get endo on the auto immune list but guessing we will get contacted if we do need to be careful anyway so just need to let our docs get on with it. Im def still not 100% and stupidly thought I would just bounce back really quickly. I was given Zoledex injection the morn after my surgery and I think its prob that that is making me feel weird. So annoying I'm the type of person that just gets on with things so my mind just wants to go for a run and my body is like 'nope!!!' Ooo I shall defo try the zinc and vitamin D. Every lil helps xxx
I spoke to my GP and he said I was only in the at risk category because of asthma that has to be managed with more than the blue inhaler. Not the endo. I read it’s respiratory diseases, heart conditions and diabetes are the at risk categories. Although I’m not taking any chances and social distancing.
I've not needed my blue inhaler for over a decade, only had it because i developed respiratory problems during uni - not eating or looking after myself. I should think I'm okay now. I was on the pre-diabetes list over two years ago but back well within the normal range.
There are others whom will be more at risk than myself.
No endo doesn't count. Its things that affect your immune system, like cancer or auto immune conditions. Also lung and heart disease as due to our being a respiratory condition it can agrevate these.
I have stage iv endo and I’ve always had good immunity from seasonal bugs. Only thing I would say is be careful with pain relief. I use ibuprofen as it’s anti inflammatory but we are being told if you have coronavirus it’s not safe to take. So maybe use paracetamol if required.
When I was in hospital they gave paracetamol and only ibuprofen if needed and with food. This wasnt to do with covid-19 but as it's not good for your tummy. I still have endo left in my bowel and colon so they said it's best to stay away. Big wake up call to me as I would always reach for that over paracetamol before so could of been making my bowels worse eeek!
I suppose it depends on you, I have had low immunity and take longer to recover than people without endo, but also I know people with endo who have no problems. I am more susceptible to stomach bugs, have stage 4 endo bowel and bladder, usually end up in A&E so I'm less concerned about Corona, in fact since everyone has been washing their hands more I feel safer at the moment.
