Hi guys, it’s been a couple of years since I posted as after first lap and diagnosis I did get some relief for a little while...fast forward 2 years and here I am again.
I had my appointment with my consultant 2 weeks ago and it was decided they will do another laparoscopy to remove an ovarian cyst which was found on an ultrasound end of January and also to do any minor treatment with any Endo they might find on the surface (diathermy was used in my first lap) they have also said if they do think the Endo has gone deeper they would then refer my to specialist centre who will be able to go further...
What I was wondering is, giving everything that is going on at the moment with Coronavirus, is anyone finding that there scheduled operations are being postponed, I get anxious about surgery so I can’t stop thinking about it, they did say general waiting was around 6 weeks and if anyone cancels it could be sooner but I’m thinking they may put it off... has any one else had this?
Xxx

I don't have much advice on the Coronavirus with regards to it canceling your surgery (mine is tomorrow and I am still non the wiser). Unfortunately due to the unpredictability of it at present they are just seeing how things go. However, they should tell you in ample time.
What I did want to say it, opposed to having the surgery done then potentially done again by a specialist. My advice would be just ask for the referral to the specialist.
I recently visited a specialist who if performing my surgery tomorrow. He told me my pain could be as bad as it is due to (he didn't say it word of word but this is how I interpreted it) underqualifed surgeons I have been treated my previously not fully understanding how to treat endo and that could be irreversible (because of nerves, adhesions and scare tissue etc).
So I would really think about just asking for the referral instead of having potentially surgery twice.
