I've been on Prostap for 3 months, why am I still bleeding every now and again?
Is this normal? As I was told I would stop!
Puzzled, confused....do these consultants now what they are talking about? 🤔

I’ve been on it for 3 months and I’m still bleeding all the time too! I spoke to my consultant about it and he said it can take up to 6 months to feel the benefit! My pain hasn’t reduced either! How are you finding it with your symptoms?
Hi Jemma97
I get alot of side effects, such as mood swings, loss of appetite, nausea and sickness, also currently of with depression.
I'm still getting pains, which can vary from dull ache to sharp stabbing, twisting pain, sometimes down one leg or both others days
I thought it would reduce the pain aspect, but so far I'm still getting it.
That sounds the same as me, although my nausea only started after the third injection! Have you asked about how long it will take for it to reduce pain because my gynaecologist said I might not feel the benefits until after the 6 months which is very annoying!
They said I'll see a difference after the third! Well the third has been an pretty much gone.
She went on to say, because I had the second injection late. But if I be honest, i don't think they know what they are talking about!
The pains I still pretty much still get everyday
I’m sorry love hope it gets better they don’t tell you about anything
Hello, I continued to bleed after my third pro-stap injection. Went to A&E as this is what the GP advised and the hospital doctor said this could sometimes happen and not to worry... (I thought the point of these injections was to stop periods and asap!)
Hello! I hope you're okay I just wanted to comment as I too am still experiencing bleeding on Prostap and wasn't sure what to do! I was wondering if you got anywhere?
I had my 1st injection and experienced a period (let's say haha)
2nd injection, started HRT, experienced a period
Then when I went for my 3rd injection I got the 3 monthly one due to covid19 and I bled for a week, stopped for a week, bled for a week, stopped and now I'm bleeding again and I am utterly confused!!
It feels wrong to take HRT whilst bleeding so much and the pain hasn't even improved yet!
Eeeee thank you
Sending love x
Hi
I'm sorry to hear. Yes having prostap was a bit if a rollercoaster ride for me too!
I bled every month, but the bleed, the flow was lighter, very unpredictable, I would either bleed for a day or a week, it would stop and start. However, I did suffer extreme pelvic aches and pains.
I also had a ended up having 3 months worth, due to the virus, which made me quite I'll for about a week. Extremely fatigue and lethargic.
I'm not on HRT, but was put on Amitriptyline and was given calcium and vitamin D tabs.
I've felt ok after a while, but I assume everyone is effected differently by this savage condition.
My treatment may continue for another 6 months, but that is yet to be decided.
I hope yours has settled down. I has not been easy being on Prostap. But have been trying to get an appointment with a specialist, which is not going to plan.
I hope everything goes well for you Evangelinie!
Best wishes your way 😊
