Uretra and ovary stuck solid with adhesions

Hello, have had bilateral salpingo oophorectomy via laparoscopy today. Was more complex than thought as my ovary was fused with adhesions to my uretra. Took some time but managed to chip away. Very painful recovery so far and needed to stay in hospital overnight. Just wandered if anyone has experiences this or similar and what recovery is like ? Thank you

Hi

My Endo has stuck my left ovary, bowel and uterus together and also squished my left uretra so I now have some loss of kidney function which has to be monitored. I did have a stent for 6 months to open it up which helped but gave me additional symptoms. As to recovery it’s an individual thing. I’ve had 3 laparoscopic surgeries. Each recovery was different. After 2 I was in hospital for a week, the last time it was 2 nights. Got referred-to sister hospital for kidney side of things. Be kind to yourself and don’t overdo it, a hot water bottle may be soothing. May not help much but hope you feel better soon xx

Lol . Thanks but 12 years on from diagnosis and no changes as can’t take hormones. It is what it is. On the bright side I now know what the cause of all my symptoms are and it’s not all in my head. That in itself is a major positive. 👍🙂xx

Hi, I also had salpingo-bilateral oopherectomy on Tuesday (28th) came home yesterday. Feel ok so far but wondering about recovery and also when to expect any menopausal symptoms.

Sorry I can't share much other than I'm feeling sore and swollen.

I hope you feel better soon x
