Wow that is such an amazing story I'm so glad that Endo no longer controls your life wish people would have listened to you sooner! and thank you for sharing that with me ! This has brought me a bit of ease !
You didn't mention in your post about whether you've had a laparoscopy - I'm assuming not as you haven't a diagnosis yet. Laparoscopy is the gold standard for diagnosis and so it would be worthwhile revisiting your doctor and being asked to be rerefered to a specialist in endometriosis treatment. Sadly, sometimes you have to really push to get the treatment you deserve. It would be worth checking out our consultation questionnaire on Endometriosis UK's website as it's always best to go into appointments with lots of information to present and questions prepared. endometriosis-uk.org/sites/...
Equally, we have a network of support services including our helpline and online and local support groups, who would be happy to talk through your options. endometriosis-uk.org/get-su...
I feel your pain - I was diagnosed with endometriosis 10 years ago. It took quite a while then to find out what was actually wrong. Was in hospital or various suspected things like appendix.
I have been going to the doctor again for almost 2 years now with different symptoms- migraines, dizziness, sickness etc. I have just been diagnosed with PCOS.
I am also terrified about not being able to have kids. This is a huge huge thing to have to worry about. But after reading lots of posts on here I feel so much better about this. So many stories of women having many children and ok pregnancies. There are of course the other side where it’s not so successful but there are so many where it is positive.
Push and don’t stop pushing your doctor to help and if you’re worried about fertility, speak to the doctor and insist on testing or further examination. This is exactly what I am now doing, finding out my options and personal changes such as diet that I can make to help symptoms.
