Hi, I have a fibroid measured 6.7cm last spring and was told anything over 5cm must be removed. I only discovered it as I had a scan at a fertility clinic. I had no idea it was there.
It doesn’t cause pain or bleeding. It’s subserosal so it’s outside the womb.
Anyone know if I have to definitely have surgery?
I have a gynaecologist appointment in February.

Fibroids don't have to be removed if they're not causing any problems, but unsure of the size vs removal part. It would be best to get a second opinion.
I had a laparoscopy and they removed endometriosis tissue but not my fibroid, although I don't know how big the fibroid is.
I don’t believe they need to be removed unless they are causing you issues with pain / fertility? I’m sure the gynaecologist will be able to advise on your individual case.
I had surgery last year, focused on my Fallopian tubes and a cyst, and they removed fibroids whilst there, but in my case they didn’t know they were there til they were in there and doubt they’d of operated just for them.
