I'm due to have surgery on the 14th Jan to have 2 endometriomas removed. I'm massively anxious. Has anyone had this done and could give me an in site on what the recovery is like. I have a toddler and no idea what to expect

Hi, I've had this operation twice and recovery on both occasions has been pretty smooth.

For the first week or so you'll be pretty sore so keep on top of your painkillers (get paracetamol and ibuprofen in beforehand, as you're not always sent home with a prescription) and try to rest as much as you can.

I had other procedures done during my surgeries so needed a bit of extra time off work, but felt ready to go back after about 4 weeks.

Keep checking your laparoscopy scars for any signs of infection. The belly button site is most prone to infection so keep it clean and dry.

Good luck - hope everything goes well. Xx
