I have rectovaginal endometriosis and I've been having problems with pain after I wee. It was showing up slightly on the dipstick in drs as a water infection so she gave me antibiotics. It was still there so when back after a week and she did a swab which come back as strep b. She said it don't usually cause any problems but will give me more antibiotics. The pain had practically gone after 3 days but has now returned again. Is it the antibiotics are not working? Anyone had strep b and couldn't get rid of it. All these problems started after a laparoscopy 4 weeks ago.

Hello,
I had the same problem after a recent c-section. I’ve had Endo for 30 years and luckily through various Endo tests knew I was a strep-B carrier and so my baby and were given IV antibiotics during labour. He was thankfully fine, but I developed an active infection and my symptoms kept easing and flaring for about 6 months despite extra courses of antibiotics. In the end (out of desperation) I tried one of those internal PH balancing gels you can get from pharmacist (BalanceActiv was the one that seemed to work for me).
I checked first with my GP that it was worth trying them and safe to do so and I’d recommend you do the same particularly post-surgery. You also obviously need to see your GP again asap and try something stronger if you have increasingly severe symptoms and develop a temperature.
Like lots of people I’ve been a strep-B carrier without symptoms for at least 15 years (possibly my whole life), but surgery seemed to upset my body’s natural balance and led to a symptomatic infection taking hold.
I hope you find something that works for you and get some relief from your strep-B symptoms soon, x X x
An infection after surgery is not uncommon. We are no experts on antibiotics so only the doctor can know what antibiotic works but please call him/her if you feel it's not working
