4 years ago I had a laparoscopic surgery, for (in technical words) diathermy of endometriosis, adhesiolusis, bilateral tuboplasty for blocked Fallopian tubes secondary to endometriosis and ovarian cystectomy. I’m starting to go through fertility and so I had a internal and external scan to see if any endo had come back. According to the nurse everything looks fine, but the pains I’m having are unbearable before my monthly period. This is mainly happening when I open my bowels, I’m wondering if this could be that the endo has come back on my bowel and the nurse did not see this on my scan?? I’m also wondering what I can do/take to help with the pain. I’ve been taking pain killers and anti-inflammatory and they don’t seem to work!
Hi, no it was on my womb which had fused to my pelvis and on the outside of my Fallopian tubes as well as my polycystic ovaries and blocked tubes in which one has been confirmed does not work.
Diathermy of endometriosis is the term that refers to the thermo ablation.
Ablation has been proven NOT to be the most effective method for the removal of endometriosis, so I suggest you see an EXCISION specialist to discuss the possibility of surgery. The pain you're in comes from severe endometriosis which has regrown in these 4 years. I can guarantee you (I've seen countless cases like this) that if you undergo IVF/ovarian stimulation in that much pain and with that much endometriosis, the chances of the embryo implanting are close to none.
I strongly recommend you get a second opinion as scans normally don't show endometriosis.
