How long did you try for a baby before having a lap
Hi Afrohair, I'm sorry to hear that you had a miscarriage. How are you?
I had one in 2009 and only started trying again to conceive 2-3 yes ago.
I've had around 7 laparoscopies for endo but was advised not to have another before IVF treatment. Consultants didn't want to risk possible scar tissue and delaying treatment.
We're starting the IVF journey with a few months of hormone treatment (down regulation) as have endo, PCO and fibroids.
I wonder if doctors have said whether it would be beneficial for you to have surgery to assist with your chances of conceiving next time or is it for pain management?
Wishing you well*
Hi there thanks for replying nothing has really been said I saw the consultant whilst pregnant he said that I would have been advised to take the pill or have a lap if I wasn’t pregnant but since I was pregnant he said there’s nothing he can do and it might cure me basically .my pain has reduced since but I don’t know what to do for best try conceive or go for a lap I’ve had children in the past so I don’t know if this is a one off with me having just recently been told it must be endo I believe I have it in my old cezerean scar which I’ve heard more people have it than I knew I’m really stuck.ive read many stories of people with severe endo and pregnancy so I’m hoping I can still carry full term
I guess having further discussions with your consultant and from your own experience of how endo impacts you, will determine what the best treatment option is for you.
Are you struggling with pain and symptoms so they've suggested having a laparoscopy/hormone treatment? Or will having treatment improve your chances of conceiving in the future?
I was offered hormone treatment to manage pain of endo and several laparoscopies didn't necessarily improve my chances of conceiving, after the fourth one. So treatment being offered was mainly for pain management and to treat the endo.
Thankyou for your input my pain was terrible until I conceived my last baby sadly it ended in misscarrige it’s my first month after misscarrige and all I’m experiencing is slight sciatica which Came before my period it has now gone a lot and when I bend it hurts which makes me think it’s on my old cezerean scar as it seems to have changed shape slightly .Since changing to the endo diet aswell straight after misscarrige I feel much better and feel the misscarrige may have stopped some of the symptoms I don’t have a limp when I walk like I used to and I barley take pain relief only once a day so am at a loss.as it was initially because I had a cyst on my ovary which hurt and pelvic pain but since misscarrige no pain only slightly
