Worried about the doctors!

Hi to everyone,

I will start at the start, I got my period when I was 14 and pretty much from the date started it just got worse every month, thinking it was normal I just shrugged it off for a year,I finally went to the doctors when I was 15 about my many symptoms That I would get all month round,

They did all the routine stuff like examainations and putting me on the pill, And eventually sent me for an ultrasound looking for cysts but that came up clear, I was so upset thinking there was no reason for my pain and just felt so shrugged off by the doctors that I carried on with the pain until I was 18 and finally got the confidence to go back to the doctors,

At 18 I was given an internal ultrasound, again looking for cysts,They found nothing for the second time round and so I just assumed it was all normal to feel like this not been able to get out of bed half the month, feeling sick, bloating, irregular, heavy periods, feeling faint, all over body pin

I suppose you just learn to deal with it it’s been four years you just kind of function,

The difference is now I’m 21 and I didn’t realise it could just get worse I have all the same symptoms but I just learn to deal with them but there’s just some new ones that are really nagging,

My biggest problem with it all at the moment is the agonising abdominal pain right in my belly button it comes on when every it wants to any part of the month it stops me from being able to have a wee any bowel movements to bend down too fast and it comes along with bloating which just makes me feel so uncomfortable,

Alongside my fear of the doctors, ironically I also have a fear of bellybuttons I don’t like looking at them I don’t like talking about them and so this pain is just wonderful, it’s all over the news at the moment that loads of people have been undiagnosed with endometriosis and I am petrified that that is exactly what is happening to me, my step mum wasn’t diagnosed until she was around 30 by that point it done a lot of damage and had left her unable to have children

I’m here because I need encouragement to go back to the doctors to fight for this, I need people to tell me that I’m not just being hormonal that my symptoms are real and not normal, I just need advice if this is what you guys think it is, just a little bit of help while I lie awake at 1 a.m. with pain in my belly button crunched up!

Thank you for your time!

I’m so sorry you’re having such a horrible time trying to get the help you need. Is there a particular reason you think it’s endo (I’m not saying it isn’t, just wondering)? I’d recommend trying a few different doctors... My endometriosis wasn't diagnosed until my husband and I were struggling to conceive x

Thank you for replying, well I’ve had all the scans which are coming up with nothing, I have a few friends who have endometriosis and so explaining my symptoms to them they always think that that’s what this is,

I have pain in specifically my belly button and the right side of my pelvic, when I go for a wee, bowel movements, intercourse all quite often, bending up and down and sitting 😩

My periods are heavy and start really dark, and I get spotting too, followed by a frequent amount of painful bloating and lastly tiredness

Basically in pain quite often for a long time just so uncomfortable
