Hi i am new here. I am married and want to have a baby but I have been diagnosed endometriosis since last year waiting for my surgery appointment. I suffer with extreme pain every month, its very bad to wait for your treatment for so long even after such a sever pain, sometimes i feel i am going to die because of this pain and its better to die instead of bearing it. I find it hard to stay positive.

Can anyone advice me a brilliant endo consultants doing laparoscopies and follow up care, and how much does it cost in London? As its very long to be waiting for surgery through NHS.

It's about £6000 for private in London (portland hospital I think?) with the gynae center. But that's with the hospital stay, anaesthetic and tests included. Somewhere else might be more/less.

Hello I was £5,500 which included my pre assessment, surgery with a nights stay. Follow up was £150. I’m not in London but just to give you an idea of price x

It's very expensive in england

I was so.desperate few years ago, that I had the operation in Poland. It cost £3500 and the hospital was like a 5 star hotel and the surgeon was lovely and no complications at all. Its sounds silly.but the polish governors wife has endometriosis so its really known about in poland.

If you need his email me know x

I know it will reflect differently because I'm in Wales but it cost around £6500 all in (operation, overnight stay etc). I was advised that it would cost less without the overnight stay however my hospital didn't have any early appointments so that's the only option I had.

I would suggest looking into an extremely skilled BSGE-certified surgeon or Nancy Nook surgeon working within the NHS. Going privately doesn't necessarily offer the right type of care, it's the surgeon who matters at the end of the day. If you go privately with a surgeon who is not able to treat your case you may still need another surgery or be unable to conceive

Hi Travelr,

We have 3 BMI hospitals, blackheath, Sloane (beckenham) and chelsfield (bromley). There is an amazing consultant called Ms Hanna. I have had 4 surgeries privately by her and have spoken to 20 women + who have all found her amazing. She save my life and both my twisted ovaries with my first surgery, I conceived my 3rd little boys after the second surgery and my last surgery was a full hysterectomy and you cannot even find the 1cm scar left behind!!!

At all three hospitals it is £4780. You have to pay for your initial appointment to see her, about £250, possibly another 250 for an ultrasound if she needs to do one which she will do on the spot. The price then includes absolutely everything from pre-OP bloods to stay in hospital shoukd you need it. If the consultant feels you need to stay in, its covered by the price. Covers all meds you are sent home with and a follow up appointment at 6 weeks.

I saw a man at the portland, I cant remember his name, but I absolutely hated him. Not to say he wouldnt be a skillful surgeon though, but wouldnt pay a penny more than you need to.

Wish you all the best. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. You are 100% doing the right thing going private if you can but it is still important to get a good consultant. There are as many horror stories with private ops as their are NHS. It really is their skill that's important.

Xxxx
