I had my diagnostic laparoscopy on 25/9/19, (after a 4 month wait) following a cancellation they called the day before the op was due so I dropped everything and made sure I went along to the appointment as I’d been waiting so long for this. I was having this surgery to check the patency of my Fallopian tubes as when I originally tried a hycosy test at the fertility clinic it proved futile because I fainted before they’d even got the dye in the catheter. So they referred me to be put to sleep for it!
However during the procedure they managed to perforate my bladder, causing it to bleed a lot! They stitched me up, all went ok. I was under for 6 hours instead of the usual 1 hour and my poor husband hadn’t been told a thing about what had happened to me!
I woke up with a catheter in situ which I believe is part of the laparoscopy procedure anyway but I was told mine would have to stay in 2 weeks to let the bladder heal properly!
Aside from this they told me they discovered endometriosis and the Fallopian tube on the right is blocked.
Apart from feeling confused and in a state of shock, I was discharged after 4 days without even a inkling of what to expect from now.
I just wondered if anyone has endometriosis with one blocked Fallopian tube and what you were offered in terms of fertility treatment?
Also I’m so glad I found this forum, I feel like a huge weight has been completely lifted and I feel like I’m gonna be taken seriously now. I had an internal exam and they’ve told me for the last 9 months that I have PCOS so I’ve been looking after myself in terms of diet, vitamins etc. It’s a confusing time for both me and my husband but we’re doing everything we can to stay positive!

Hi, I had one blocked Fallopian tube (I eventually had it removed a couple of years ago). I had IVF (first round was NHS funded). Wishing you a speedy recovery x
It took a little while unfortunately, as I had to wait for a GP referral and then to get to the top of the list at the fertility clinic. I’ve had two rounds of ivf to date, and technically both worked, but our first little one had a birth defect and didn’t make it. So far, so good with the second though - I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant 😊 x x
P.S. re. the blocked tube: I had to have mine removed as it was swollen with fluid. The doctor was worried it might leak, and cause harm to a developing foetus x
Also do you have endometriosis too? And do you think it’ll make a difference that I’m already under the fertility specialist? It was him that referred me for the diagnostic so once he receives the results I’m hoping the next steps can be taken.
But I guess i will know more when they arrange an appointment to see me.
I have so many questions 😕
All I want is a baby, I didn’t ask for all this extra hassle but I suppose I was dealt an unlucky hand!! 😕
I’m so sorry to hear about your first baby, must of been horrendous for you. 💔
Hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy , all the best ❤️
Yes, I have endometriosis too-it’s never simple, is it? It’ll definitely be a speedier process if you’re already with a fertility clinic, as you won’t have to wait around for referrals 😊 It’s a tough journey, but you’ll get there x x
