I was recently diagnosed through a laparoscopy with stage 3 endometriosis and my left Fallopian tube is blocked. I’m under the fertility clinic as they requested I have the tubal patency test under general anaesthetic , hence why I had a laparoscopy. Although there were other complications during the surgery which resulted in me staying in for 5 days I’ve now fully recovered.
I’m due to see the fertility doctor in December, which is AGES away, and I’m going crazy thinking about what’s going to happen next. Am I gonna be offered IVF? clomid? IUI? I keep googling everything and I think I’m doing the wrong thing by doing so as I have now sent my anxiety into overdrive !
If anyone has experienced something similar and have had fertility treatment I’d love to hear from you.

Haven’t actually got a plan in place yet unfortunately.
I’d rather get the fertility aspect sorted first before I treat the endo, if I’m honest the endo effects me but I’ve learnt to deal with it with pain relief and changing my diet so I’m hoping they won’t want to treat the endo and it ruins my chances of conceiving. Although I have read up that IVF is the option for stage 3/4 endo. And with the blocked tube aswell I’m guessing that’s the only option for me!
I was diagnosed with the same last year, moderate/severe endo and my left tube is blocked. I was referred to ivf straight away as we had been trying for two years at that point. Did they say where you endo is?
We’ve had one failed cycle and are about to start our second cycle. A girl I know with endo recently got pregnant on her first ivf cycle so probably not the endo that caused our failed cycle
First of all it’s nice to speak to someone who has the same diagnosis as myself, I know this forum is for all women with endometriosis etc but as there’s different stages everyone of us are so different!
My endo is on the uterosacral ligament , which after all these years makes so much sense cause I have a lot of problems with my bowels, I’m either really constipated or I go a lot, and then there’s the bleeding as-well (sorry tmi.), I just put it down to diet over the years cause my diet used to be shocking until we started trying for a baby.
Me and my husband have been trying 2 years in December this year and by that time it will have been 2 years so fingers crossed they offer us IVF straight away.
How old are you if i may ask? Did you start almost straight away or did you have a long wait??
Hi becks, sorry for the late reply, just saw this. I’m 36 in January. We were referred from the date of my lap in aug 2018 and got our first appointment for ivf bloods in jan 2019. It takes a while to start so our first round wasn’t until March/April 2019. All through nhs Glasgow
I am privately meeting with an excision specialist in Liverpool in two weeks to see his advice on whether another op would help as the one I had on the nhs seems to have made my endo symptoms worse (this is our back up plan in cycle 2 fails too) u get 3 cycles on the nhs if under a certain age
Hey there! Congratulations on your recovery first of all!! I understand how you feel, when I found I had endo what I worried most was getting pregnant. Luckily I don't have pains outside of my period. I have stage 3/4 diagnosed due to bilateral ovarian cysts, one if which is over 7cm. I got pregnant naturally the very month I thought I had missed my ovulation window and kinda forgot about trying. It was a real surprise, as I was mentally preparing for IVF. Doctors gave me sux months to try naturally. Now I'm praying it goes well. I also pray for all if you. Unless you have a very specific problem endo state cannot exactly determine your fertility. I've heard tons of stories of women with healthy pregnancies and chocolate cysts, even with just one ovary. So miracle really do happen, that's what I try to believe!
It’s horrible when you hear those words cause it’s the first thing you think and all you ever think about until you fall pregnant! I’m waiting for my day to come, I’m hoping it will be soon!
I think what’s bothering me the most is the long wait for answers, it’s driving me insane! I’m 27 and my husband is 30 so I feel like time is going by too quick without being any further along.
You are actually young and I have my fingers crossed for you! I'm 33 and my husband is older. I was always told - Try not to overthink it, relax, don't obsess. And I thought that was impossible. I was getting stressed out about all the stress. But now I know it does happen, one day you kinda forget and boom, you get the most wonderful surprise. Trust it will!! Wishing you best of luck!!
Please tell whetherboth tubes are blocked , your periods regular or not ultrasound follicle screening done age previous children endometrial thickness study hormonal study. Only endometriosis blocking one tube cant stop you frm hving a pregnancy.
Its a bit of a this and that. With stage 3 it depends where it is. You say your tubes but that what they can see? and presumably tests but it isn't that simple. We tried everything. Then finally I was allergic to the drugs at the end of what we thought was success.
If I had managed to carry a baby. My pregnancy would have been painful cos of my scar on the womb which they knew as was the C section they quite to them self. They try to stay positive and it lead me to feel after misinformed.
I feel personally that a few are lucky but now I am glad I didn't have children cos the thought of passing this disease oin to a child I made would have made me feel selfish.
Defo get surgery before trying to conceive I’ve got stage 4 endo and I had an ectopic and lost my tube. Make the environment as safe as possible for your baby xxxx
