Hi all so I'm currently waiting for my diagnosis to be made concrete but all the Drs I have seen are telling me it is endometriosis. I am struggling so badly with quite severe pain and strong nausea is there any advice?
Pain and nausea: Hi all so I'm currently... - Endometriosis UK
Pain and nausea
Hi there, am in same boat awaiting my lap on Monday to diagnose endo. Have you tried an anti-sickness/anti-emetic, also ginger tea can help! xx
1) Then it is endometriosis and the only thing that wil truly help you is advanced excision surgery with a BSGE-certified team of surgeons (excision specialist, bowel surgeon, urologist) or Nancy Nook surgeon + his team. Please PM me if you need names of highly skilled surgeons who will remove all your endometriosis in one sitting who also work within the NHS.
2) As for the nausea, people recommend ginger tea and anti-emetics but personally, I feel like the nausea is usually related to the pain, so if we reduce the pain, the nausea will subside. What you need is to sleep at least 9 hours per night of high quality sleep (find a way to set a sleeping schedule if you don't already), do some mild physical activity outside like light walking or light yoga in the park. Never let life stress you out because stress is a big nausea trigger and endo trigger too.
Eat wonderfully well. Go for freshly caught fish like mackerel and sardines, fresh, organic and in-season veggies, some fre-range eggs or grass-fed meat, some nuts, in-season organic fruit and certain grains like whole rice, quinoa, amarath are allowed too. Drink matcha green tea instead of coffee. Water, homemade alcohol-free beet kvass, water-based kefir, coconut milk are allowed too. Do not drink anything with alcohol or preservatives in it. Do not eat anything processed, industrial meat and all dairy, anything fried and refined carbs like pizza, bread, crackers, breadsticks, pasta and biscuits. Take care of your oral hygiene
3) Get your thyroid hormone and vitamin D levels tested
I support everything mentioned by StepaniaJW. A well-balanced fiber rich diet will really help you manage your pain. Pain killers are great for fast relief but they aren't a long term solution. Treat food as medicine and nourish your body with plenty of fish, fruit, veg and water. Also, I have an office job where I sit on my butt all day (which really doesn't help the pain), so gentle regular movement is a must for me - that could be a walk round the block or a few simple stretches. Look for yoga with Adrienne on You Tube - she does a routine for period pain.
Other things to consider pain team, pain physio who specialises in Endo am menstrual issues., acupuncture, a deep bath and plenty of Epsom salts, candles and a cat!Yes a cat! Get a cuddly rescue cat! They are a ready made hot water bottle! The rescues are so grateful especially the older ones plus you don't have to train them! Animals have healing abilities plus they help with the stress because stroking an animal helps lower the blood pressure.
Right now you are helping me with my pain. It's called distraction.
And remember none of this is your fault! Get back to us if need any further help or just fancy a moan.
