This may sound a very silly question as every where I look and read, I’m been told that having endometriosis decrease your fertility, which to be honest it is with me. I just want some hope, reassurance that there is still a chance this may happen and to keep trying.
Has any of you ladies got pregnant whilst diagnosed with endometriosis or know any one who has x x

I didnt get pregnant naturally but was also late 30s which didnt help. We had three rounds of ivf in the end before getting lucky. My little boy is now 2. He is perfect in every way (apart from being a monkey) but was well worth the wait. Chat with your GP and get tests and referral if worried. Good luck.
I have stage 3 endo and PCOS. I fell pregnant naturally after 18 months of trying with my now nearly 4 year old daughter. We started trying again when she was 18 months. After just over a year of trying I had laparoscopic surgery to remove endometriomas from both ovaries but still wasn't pregnant 6 months later so we went with IVF as by that time I was 36 years old. First cycle I got pregnant but had a miscarriage. Second cycle is now my 35 week bump. Don't give up hope!
Hi thank you for your reply, I have a little girl who is 6 and just perfect and we have been trying for over two years and within that two years found out I had endo’s had my operation November 2019 and have been trying since we still no joy.
IVF crossed my mind this week, but I honestly don’t have that kind of money and either already having a child I don’t think they would look upon me as a valid case, it is so heart breaking every month knowing the disappointment when I come on. I mean intercourse isn’t the most enjoyable with the pain I get but I also don’t want to give it hope that I can give my little girl a brother or a sister to complete our little family.
Yes, we had to fund the IVF ourselves. The NHS won't fund it if either parent already has a child. If it's something you wanted to look into, a lot of clinics offer payment plans to make it more accessible. Private clinics won't refuse you because you already have a child.
I was diagnosed and treated for endometriosis after not being able to get pregnant and suffering chronic pain. I got pregnant within a few months but unfortunately had a miscarriage. My consultant then recommended IVF as we were running out of time. I now have 2 healthy boys. It is possible.
I was referred for NHS funding by the consultant I saw for endometriosis. He also remained my consultant throughout IVF. How many rounds of IVF you can have on the NHS depends on your circumstances and on where you live. I had two rounds and two pregnancies so was very lucky. Where I live there is only one funded cycle, so I had to pay for the second cycle, which was still carried out via the NHS just that I had to pay. It was about £4K all in and that was 2 years ago. It can be a very expensive process. But in many areas in the U.K. you can get up to 3 rounds funded by the NHS. The best thing would be to
Go to your GP and tell them you’ve been trying for more than 12 months and then you can be referred to a fertility specialist.
Yes, I have a child. We needed three rounds of IVF. Don’t give up.
I have severe endo and conceived after 2.5yrs of trying for my second , I had ivf which failed within those 2.5yrs and ended up conceiving naturally 6 months after the failed cycle. I completely understand how hard it is and disappointing every month but keep trying and stay positive.
Myself and a friend of mine both have endo and we have had our first babies in the last 6 months, both naturally. I think it depends on where your endo is which will impact Levels of fertility.
Sending positive vibes and hope that your wishes come true very soon for you xxx
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Reading all the positive responses has really helped me. I feel the same as you, I constantly read about how fertility is effected by endometriosis and don't really hear any positives. It is also so frustrating as there is no clear advice on why it effects fertility and what you can do to help improve your chances.
I have have stage 4 endometriosis which is in my bowel, on my bladder and had also attached my rectum to my uterus. I have had surgery to remove some of it, and was told that my ovaries and Fallopian tubes were Ok. However we have been TTC for 14 months now with no luck. It is such a sad thing to go through x
Yes! Fell pregnant 5 months after coming off the pill aged 32. Had a lap a couple of years previously to that when i had a large amount of endo removed from my pouch of douglas. Good luck! xx
I had my first surgery with my diagnosis the week before my wedding! I was pretty crushed as I wanted a baby so badly. I now have a gorgeous baby boy who is absolutely perfect and I cant wait to get pregnant again! Was a tough few months worrying. But that's all forgotten now! Stay positive x
