Hello. Just joined this community to get advice and to help others if I can. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis in March 2019 and I am currently recovering to from my second Surgery which was to remove the Endometriosis (Operation 2 weeks ago). I have been very lucky that symptoms only started two years ago and I have already had diagnosis and treatment, this being due to having private healthcare through my employer.

Hi HopeRed

I am sorry to hear that you’re being offered that only, if it’s not an option you want to choose. I wasn’t offered a hysterectomy just the option to have surgery to remove Endo through Laparoscopy. Good luck with everything, I hope you can get more choice getting a second opinion.

The second opinion said the same and I still believe I don't want full hysterectomy I just want endo removed. Thanks so much I will continue my fight. Can I ask do you have children?

Oh I see. Have they given a reason why it would have to be a hysterectomy and not just to remove Endo? I don’t have children but once I have finished hormone injections in a few months, my husband and I are going to start trying. I have no idea if it will be possible to conceive but will just have to see what happens. Do you have any children yourself?

I think this is why I have 2 children and I am in my early 40s but I still don't want it. I had no trouble conceiving hope you don't too x

Thank you! Hopefully I will be able to. My mum had a hysterectomy in her early 50s due to having cysts in ovaries and when they operated they found she had endometriosis too. It’s a very big operation so I can understand why you would not want to go down that route. I don’t know if this would help but I am reading a book called “Endometriosis A key to healing and fertility through nutrition” by Dian Shepperson Mills & Michael Vernon. It may offer you an alternative option to surgery?

Thank you. Did you have your treatment in London?
