Has anyone tried this as a method of treatment? The thought of no periods is liberating, but I am concerned about possible long/short term side effects.

Hi, yes i have been taking a daily double dose (single dose not effective for me) for about 6 years now. This method had stopped my periods and mostly managed my pain. I have stage 4 endometriosis with a frozen pelvis. I feel you have nothing to lose trying this method. Hope it works for you :-)

Thank you for sharing, I really am grateful. With all the uncertainties of the condition, it's reassuring to read positives. I suppose I'm more worried about possible side effects, on top of the condition. Will give it a try and hope for good things. I'm wishing you all the best 💐x

I have been taking noretisterone acetate for 14 months. It has worked well for me, no periods, very occasional and very light spotting. No pain. My doctor wants me to come off this in March and have a mirena coil fitted because she thinks this is a better option for the long term; regarding health. I hope this helps. Good luck to you 💞Xx

Thank you for taking the time to share, it's really reassuring to read. I know it's different for everyone, but I take heart from the fact you've suffered no extra pain or health issues. I'm so glad it's working for you. I'm nearing the menopause so am hopeful that it won't need to be long term use, but will see how goes. Good luck to you too, Georgie 💐 x

I've been on this since June last year. It really helps me. I get only a tiny bit of very light bleeding every now and again. I'm not 100% pain free, but it has taken away the worst of my pain. Bear in mind though, it can take up to six months to settle down. It took a couple months for me. Before that, I had really low mood and constant bleeding, but everyone is different and I'm SO glad I stuck with it now. It's worth a couple months of being uncomfortable.

Hope it works for you!

Thank you 🙏 I’m so bored of endometriosis and quite impatient anyway that being aware to ‘stick with’ is really really helpful. You mentioned that you had low mood. Was that in the early stages of taking the pill?

Yeah, for me I had low mood for the first 6–8 weeks. I was just really tearful and easily upset. But my mood evened out eventually!

Well done for getting through it and not just giving-up - which is what I would have done without your advice. I'll be mindful... Thank you so much and wishing you all the best 💐x
