I was diagnosed with endo around 2y ago and since then so much happend.
I was to have surgery that I cancelled because I was not that symptomatic and went to see another sepcialist who told me to hold the surgery for now. I have being on Prostap (as pre medication for surgery that I stopped as soon as I cancelled the surgery), on the combined pill and this month I had 1 IM injection of Depo-Provera as I keep forgetting to take the pill so the nurse suggested the injection.
When I had this last injection she told me that if I don't plan to have babies that soon before the next injection is due (3 month time) to go and see her to have the contraceptive implant inserted. Now, I heard so many stories about this implant and that people bleed non stop and bla bla...
I am asymptomatic from my endo and I only have pain if I bleed.
For those who have the implant how do you feel? How long have you had it inserted ? Any tips?
Regards the injections does anyone know for birth control and to stop periods if I should choose prostap or depo provera?
I don't want to jump from contraceptive all the time as I am afraid what that can do to my body.
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks a lot :*

The implant is not actually recommended for people with endo as a side effect is heavier bleeding, which isn't something we want. The usual options are the hormonal coil (not copper), the pill or the injections.
As to which is best for you thats a personal choice I can't input into the different injections but there are medical websites that have charts that compare all of the positive and negatives/ possible side effects of each option. Unfortunately I can't recall the name of the website I've previously used it might be something like family planning clinic.
I’m currently waiting to have a lap done to see if I have endo but i’ve had the implant for 6 consecutive years, mostly recent one was fitted start of april and although i’ve not had a period I get spotting and pain around ovulation and when my period is due still but everyone is different.
The first time I had it I was 16 and didn’t have a period for 18 months, then after that they were fairly heavy for 6 months and then levelled out. The second one I had stopped them for 6 months, then after that I suffered from really irregular bleeding and a lot of pain. This time round, no period (3rd month in) but experiencing pain.
Re: side effects, I haven’t experienced the typical weight gain, acne and mood swings.
I had the implant a number of years ago and I had a terrible time with it. Constantly had brown gunky discharge, rarely had a typical bleed, weight gain, and mood swings. I was told after 6 months of this to "just give it a bit longer to settle", I had to really push to have it removed. It took a long time for my periods to return to a regular cycle (and even longer to shift the weight ha!)
I hated the implant, was so uncomfortable and made me bleed 24/7, they also put it in wrong! i’m not good at taking the pill so i’m now on the injection which also makes me bleed 24/7 so I take the pill aswell to manage my bleeding i’m not really sore from endo unless i’m bleeding but do have occasional flare ups when i’m not! I take the pill every single day so that I don’t have to bleed and get sore and if I get too much break through bleeding I give my body a rest and stop taking the pill not sure if that helps but it works for me and an injection every 3 months is worth it:’)
