Pre OP assessment

Hey all I have my pre OP assessment tomorrow.what all will I expect.

Hi. During my pre op I got asked questions about my general health and any medication I was on.

She also took my bloods, weight, height and blood pressure. Mine only took around 15mins so not long at all. Hope it goes ok x

It’s just like a general health assessment of weight, height, any allergies, blood pressure stuff like that. They also take swabs for MRSA.

When I had mine I was so nervous about the surgery at pre op, my blood pressure went through the roof so I had to stay for like 2 hours until I was calm enough to retake it xx

The pre op assessment is a general assessment of anyone having surgery in that hospital and making sure you’re fit for surgery. If you have specific endo questions, they will unlikely be able to answer them and will give you just your relevant leaflets about your surgery. You need to give blood so they know your blood type and they swap your armpits and groin for MRSA (you can do this yourself usually). Then just standard height, weight, smoking and drinking habits etc.
