Haven’t been on here for a second, been waiting for results from an endo specialist.
So I was diagnosed via lap with stage 4 endo in the POD last Feb, since then, I requested to see a specialist and was referred to Chelsea Westminster where I have had an MRI, this has confirmed endo, my ovaries and uterus are fused to my pelvis (explains the pain). The consultant has suggested that before he does the operation, I need to take Triptorelin, he did not give me much info on this drug and said I would receive a call from the nurse in 4 weeks. Does anyone know how long I need to be on this drug, the side effects etc. He also said the operation could be scheduled for Aug/sept. My end goal is to reduce the pain and conceive. I turn 40 next year.
Is this the right process/procedure to follow before removing endo?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Triptorelin is a GnRH analogue which acts by stopping the ovaries from being stimulated and stops the woman from producing oestrogen. Therefore, the endometrium and endometriosis do not grow. This can result in pain relief and can reduce the amount of tissue, making surgery easier.
The NICE guidelines for managing Endometriosis do suggest that medical professionals should consider a 3 month course of GnRH prior to surgery.
