Long story but I have had bowel issues which was diagnosed as IBS. In 2015 I had severe abdominal pains which were horrendous. I had an ultrasound and found i had an ovarian cysts which was then removed during a laparoscopy. I still had IBS pains but recently I had pains similar to my cyst pains so went back to the doctor. Ultrasound showed a cyst on my RIGHT ovary so suggested that I have another ultrasound 8 weeks later to see if it gets bigger. Second ultrasound showed the right cyst had gone but there is now one on my LEFT ovary. I dont know what to do. My mother was diagnosed with IBS when she was young and only in her late 40's did they realise she had endometriosis/adenomyosis (sorry if I spelt that wrong). She ended up having a hysterectomy. I'm worried as my symptoms and history are so similar to hers but the doctors dont seem worried. In fact after they found out my right ovary cyst had disappeared and despite one developing on my left, they have said there is no need for a follow up.
I also have an IUD which has been in place for about a year but this has been going on for much longer so I dont know what to make of that.
Does this sound like a red flag for endo to you? What should I do?

Did they look for endo when you had the laparoscopy? I would hope they would have, but if they didn't specifically look for it, they could certainly miss it.
My main symptoms of endo is lower abdominal pain almost constantly near my belly button, occassional pain near ovary location (lower back pain at same time), and IBS. Had a laprascopy couple months ago and I have endo near my bowels which explains my bowel issues. My guess is a large number of women with IBS really have endo causing it.
I have no idea. My mums endo diagnosis and hysterectomy was after my lap so I dont think endo was even mentioned. I just find it worrying that I'm getting these pains and cysts appearing so regularly. The ultrasound technician didn't seem concerned at all and said cysts are a normal part of a woman's cycle but it cant be normal to get cyst after cyst with so much pain. I get ovary pains all the time, anything from a dull pulling sensation to a sudden out of the blue stabbing pain that literally makes me stop in my tracks and feel faint. Then it disappears again. I get pain higher up which was always put down to IBS just under my belly button. Hard to describe it but almost like a dull ache or like there is a solid ball on my intestine... if that makes any sense. I bloat out and feel about 8 months pregnant.
Makes a lot of sense! Sounds a lot like how I fell quite often!
The more I've had pain, the more I realize the pain I feel near my ovary region, actually radiates up towards my belly button (as opposed to it originating in the belly button area)
