Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone has any insights or personal stories on when it might be sensible to give up on your IUD.
I've had a mirena before, and experienced more cramping with it. After removal, the cramping went away but the pain to poo from the endo came back.
About 4 years later I'm now trying the Jaydess IUD and have had it for 9 months. Seems I can't exercise without bringing on bad contraction-like pains. Stopped running and pain seems reduced, but still cramping at the start of every month and then a week later, almost like a phantom period/ovulation? Except it is excruciating pain and not even codeine touches it.
I'm scared to take it out in case its helping me in other ways - the pain to poo isn't really there anymore. Doctor doesn't think the pain is from the IUD and thinks its endo, but I don't agree.
I'm on the pill (yasmin / eloine) on top of the IUD, as IUD alone caused spotting and so did the pill back to back. Using them together I get no bleeds, just cramps and phantom period/ovulation pains.
Getting really fed up as it's interfering with my life, and ultimately I feel like my life is more important than an imaginary possible future baby's life. But I also want to try everything to 'preserve my fertility' in case I regret anything. I also quite like not crying when I'm trying to poo!
Any thoughts?
