Have just come to the end of a three month injection and had a new one in yesterday (monthly instead of 3 month one due to mix up at hospital).
Have had the mother of all migraines last night and feel absolutely beaten up today. Also been having awful hot sweats and some pain for the last week or so.
Do the zoladex start to wear off enough at end of injection cycle to make you have these symptoms? Am on HRT too but hasn’t touched the hot sweats recently.
I really don’t now whether to carry on with zoladex if I get this dip at end of cycle and awful side effects with new injection each time!
I’ve been on Zoladex for the last 4 months I’ve still got a few injections left before my course is finished but I have the monthly injections too.
I usually find when I’m due a new injection and the week after I’ve had it I feel awful. Migraines etc I’ve suffered hot flushes the whole time I’ve been on it and bad ones but the dr doesn’t want me to go on HRT.
I’d take my side effects over what I usually go through any day of the week though but I know some people can’t deal with the headaches.
I did ask about it wearing off and the dr said it takes a while to get out your system completely after your last injection but apparently it does start to wear off to a certain extent when you’re due a new injection and she also advised I try not become over due for one.
Hope you start to find things a little easier.

Thanks for letting me know how you get on. It’s reassuring to know others are getting the same wear off and new jab symptoms.
I can cope with normal bad headaches but these migraines are completely debilitating and I work for myself so no work no pay
Am back to see consultant in two weeks so going to have a chat and at least try to get another three month jab, as when things settled down it was amazing compared to the normal pain.
Just want the full surgery now and then can move on with life after 25 years of this awful disease - can’t come quick enough for me!
Hi, thanks for letting me know. I felt awful when I had the three month jab but had also started on HRT at same time and put a lot of the nasty side effects down to that!
Hi there. I’ve been on monthly injections for 8 months now. I find the side effects were worse for 3 months then eased but better than not having the injections. The week before my next injection is hell. Im finding extreme fatigue is a massive issue and right now I’m taking every day as it comes. I’m due a hysterectomy soon so the injections have shown I will feel some What better. Good luck it’s all very subjective. 🙏
You sound like me I had a year in total then stopped at my gps insistence. I’ve had 2 months of returning pains where my endo is waking again! I have been waiting for my hysterectomy since July and I’ve been ‘promised’ it by September 😫
Coming off the injections made me realise how much they had helped!
Again, fingers crossed for a surgery date soon for you too!

Fingers crossed you get your surgery date through soon. The zoladex, for all the nasty side effects, does definitely show there is light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t it! When it settles and works it is amazing not to be in daily pain.
