Yes! My right one does. I’ve started seeing a specialist women’s physio who has been working with me to retrain my pelvic floor muscles and release my bum muscle as it’s pulling my joint out of alignment. May be worth looking up a specialist physio to see if they could help? If it were something you were interested in doing Make sure you look for one which has experience of dealing with women with endo/ IC/ pelvic floor dysfunction etc xxx

Hi Catness, good idea, thank you I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t moved much for a while due to the pain but it’s just not nice and will have a look see if I can arrange one thanks againx

Hi Hannah, my physio recommended I see a chiropractor as well. Best thing I’ve done, it’s been long and hard but after 6 months I can’t tell you how much better I feel. I’m still stiff on a morning and find sleeping difficult but now can walk and function throughout the day. I now seethe chiro every 3 weeks (it was 3 times a week when I first started) as well as my physio and follow a diet to help manage the endo. Good luck x

Yep! Both hips, not always at the same time. It was the pain in my hips that got my doctor thinking I had endo rather than a pelvic infection, thankfully she did because others told me hip pain wasn't a symptom of endo!

Hi Hannah,

At the beginning of March I was stood at work and something went in my lower back. I wasn't moving at the time just stood still. I'd managed to get through the day about noticed that the pain went from the lower right side of my back down to my right hip. At that point I was waiting for a gyne appt as I'd had an endo flair up. A few days after this I was at the emergency gyne who did nothing for the pain but ordered an MRI. I tried to carry on but couldn't. I couldn't walk without pain full stop. I was signed off work from 7th March waiting for this gyne appt that moved to the end of June. I went private and within a month I had someone listen to me and was booked in for a full hysterectomy. I'm 38 and have 2 children, I was sterilized 2 years ago as I have the novasure procedure, this stopped horrendous heavy periods. So for me I wanted an end to this terrible disease endometriosis.

I had my op nearly 2 weeks ago and I feel great (of a little bit sore) I can walk normally with no pain. My hips no longer hurt. I do feel that the hip pain I was having was due to endometriosis, what it was pushing on within my pelvis and that my body had just had enough of coping.

Wishing you all the best

Ria x

Oh yes. My left hip freezes on me, sometimes I can feel it starting, other times I’m walking and then I’m stuck. I can’t move. Before I was diagnosed with endo I used to go to an osteopath for it who would massage and try to re align body. I then realised that it only made me feel it was helping- that without going I ‘recovered’ in same time. Iv been reading that a physio for women’s health can help with this as its to do with pelvic floor muscles being too tight from the muscles when they spasm/cramp. Definitely worth a try. Good luck xx

I have a lot of lower back pain & hip pain. The only thing that has helped me (& very quick results) is regular trigger point therapy & sports massage on my back, buttocks & hips. It has been so effective that I've now trained in it myself so I can help other people - I'm astounded at the results I'm getting with my clients. Well worth a try!

Wanted to chime in here for you Hannah. I have major hip issues on top of my severe Endo. I think I know this weird hip locking you speak of. But my issues are beyond that. I have hip impingements on both sides and they are creating Labral tears in my hips. I am mentioning bc my PT has told me she swears Labral Tears and Endo are somehow associated. No research or anything done, she just says that almost all of her Endo patients also have hip issues.

I highly recommend a Chiro and PT to help ensure the symptoms you are having don’t turn into anything more painful. We don’t need to add pain to our lives!!!

My Pelvic PT is my lifeline. I see her 3-4 x a month. She does dry needling and myofascial release. I’d be 10x more miserable without her

Hey guys so I had an appointment yesterday with gyne, he’s conserved I have sciatica & it’s separate to the endo so sending me for a MRI on spine and pelvis. I think it’s linked but not the doctor so 🤷‍♀️ what you guys think? Xx

I think the way we hold ourselves when carrying around all the pain that goes with endo pre disposes us to back issues. If your piriformus muscle is overworked (it's the small one at the base of your spine), due to other larger muscles not working properly (like your gluts- bum muscles) it clamps down on your sciatic nerve. I have this problem particularly after a bad spell of endo as I spend time still or hunched up. Look up how to do a piriformus stretch exercise (I like the sitting in a chair one). Do it a number of times throughout the day for a while and see if it helps. Pilates is great for strengthening the lower back and hips and a good physio is invaluable. Mine does hands on massage (called sports massage) to ease my tight areas and increase blood flow.

Hopefully some of that info was helpful! X

Hey hannah

Yes pelvis pain, groin, hip and lower back pain get worse with period to

Point i cannot move ..

About two years ago got Worse and ended up having a emergency lap as they thought it was severe endo and it was effecting my back but i had no endo...

I had a mri and i had hip degenerative desease and two herniated disc and it was so inflammed it was effecting everything my bowel Colon bladder. They were gobsmacked as i was still

Walking about leading more

Or less A normal life...

So the symptoms are so similar

To endo as it all in same kind

Of areas so when one inflames it all does.

I now see a physio every 6 weeks and do her exercises and a osteopath every 2 weeks for more manipulation and massage and i have never felt better.

My pain is almost 0 somedays and my periods are not as heavy and painful anymore.

As a women that area of our body is a very complicated thing, we have so much in that area one problem can b so similar to another.

I have a friend who more or less has same pain and she was told endo and on her lap nothing! Turned out she had a wheat intolerance and it had infammed her body so it not always endo because it that area.. thats basically what im getting at in a long winded way 😂😂

Yeh it a thing u have to find for urself, some prefer physio, some osteo and other chiro? I prefer a osteo.

It mayb worth u trying one before u have mri just incase it wasting time and u could b getting fixed quicker?

I wasted so much time i wished i had known sooner and i could have got better quicker
