Diagnostic Laparoscopy Operation - When can I travel?

Hi All

I have laparoscopy operation booked for 20th June (right in the middle of summer season). It would be good to know few things,

- what to expect ?

- what is the recovery time like?

I have booked a holiday for the end of July not sure whether that would be enough time to recovery to go on a plane?

Hi there, I wasn’t allowed to fly for 6 weeks after surgery, hope that helps x

I was walking normally again after a week, the worst pain for me was gas in my shoulders but moving helped. I’m 8 weeks post surgery, cuts are sore but nothing like the pain I had before! Hope it goes well x

I would ask your specialist, I went abroad a week after my surgery and although flying was technically fine I was in a lot of pain throughout the holiday and know now that I should still have been resting at this point.

You will still be quite fatigued but definitely okay to travel.

I flew 3 weeks after surgery, no problem but still in pain x
