I have my first lap on Wednesday, and I was just wondering if any of you have any tips on what to do and what not to do? My pre op wasn’t very informative and I’m literally left with no information.

Diagnostic laparoscopy
Good luck for your lap!
Pack a bag for the hospital with a nightie, dressing gown and slippers, entertainment etc as the wait could be a while.
If you’re recovering in bed at home, make sure everything is in reach, bending down and stretching will hurt for a bit.
The first few days after my lap, I was quite high and full of drugs so I was pain free until it wore off and then I crashed and couldn’t get out of bed.
Make sure you rest and don’t overdo anything as it will delay healing.
I’m not sure what else there is apart from don’t eat for like 12 hours before I think it is but you can have a drink of water 2 hours before you have to go hospital xxx
Hello! Firstly, good luck...
I've had one (diagnostic) three years ago, and they found Stage 1 endometriosis. Pack a dressing gown, magazine/book, bottle of water... I would also take a couple of sanitary pads as you bleed a bit afterwards. Wear loose comfy clothing, take some slippers or slip on shoes. Make sure to take someone with you, and also make sure you'll have someone with you looking after you at home as you won't be able to move about much at all! I would suggest making sure you have some painkillers so you can use these once the anaesthetic has died off. If you like I can send some information I received from my pre-op assessment if that would help? I can screenshot some things after work? Xxx
Hi well I had my first lap on Tuesday, I wasn’t allowed anyone with me and I was so scared but it isn’t bad at all there isn’t much you can prepare yourself for it really isn’t to bad at all, I got put in little room to myself and I was on my phone and had a puzzle book, I packed pjs just incase I had to stay in and I wore some comfy clothes I took some big comfy pants aswell to change into after, there isn’t much more to do before but after I would advice having a pillow for the car journey home As the seatbelt can be uncomfortable and rest and drink plenty of water, if you want any advice or anything please feel free to message me and I hope it all goes well xxx
