Prostap - weight gain?

I was give my first Prostap 3 injection on Tuesday. Since then I have gained weight and feel slightly bloated. I wondered whether anyone else has experienced this and does it settled down?

Hi. I've now had three injections. I'm in a diet and was so happy I lost nearly a stone. I had an injection and put it all back on that week! It's so frustrating. I'm still on the diet and trying my best. I think it's just a thing with some women that you just gain with hormones. I've been told it should settle.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve also been on a diet and had lost 8lb over the last few weeks. Had the injection on Tuesday and put on 1.5lb by today. I’m so fed up and just want to cry, regretting having the injection now 😢

Sadly I have put on several stone being on zoladex (over a year) - same thing. It’s tough to lose weight and I’m very disheartened. I’ve been told it’s because we’re in the menopause 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for replying. I have been told my ovaries are still active and not in the menopause yet and he will only let me have 2 injections, next one is in August, he then wants to see me again. He has also prescribed Livial 2.5mg (which is HRT) to counteract the effects of the Prostap which can affect your bones. I have fibroids which are in the uterine wall and cannot be removed.

Feeling disheartened 😢

Sorry but that doesn’t make sense to me! - the whole point of the drugs is to shut down your ovaries! Also if you have active ovaries you don’t need HRT as the reason the drugs give you side effects is because it shuts your ovaries off suddenly!

It’s tough knowing whats going on isn’t it! I think all the drugs cause issues and personally for me my weight has been slowly increasing. I now find it incredibly hard to lose!
