I have a reaction rash on my abdomen the dr thinks it's from the iodine used on skin before surgery due to me having sensitive skin. I had 6 days ago but iv just noticed whats now appeared inside my belly button a bump with liquid inside, looks like a small blister. I really hope this is not the start of an infection as 1 of my stitches are in/below my belly button. Stitch has been stinging with a sharp burning pain now and then throughout each day but only lasts a for like a second. I have kept to all the aftercare advise and been very carefull during recovery and my stitch looks all clean and I don't touch it. Just bruising around it.

I wonder if anyone else has had infection in there stitches after lapro surgury how did yours look feel and start, did u have what looks like a small blister inside your belly button?

Thanks xx

It could be an infection

Mine started with redness spreading across my abdomen under my belly button. I caught it early and was lying with TCP liquid in my belly button, stung like a bitch but after 2 days it cleared up. Yours sounds a bit more advanced, I suggest going to the doctor's for some antibiotics and if you can stand it use some TCP. Hope it clears up soon.

I had an infection after mine and I left it for a few days thinking it would get better but I was in agony. I ended up having two lots of strong antibiotics and a nurse had to clean it out for me. She advised me that after a shower to dry my belly button with my hair dryer on a low heat as it needs to stay dry and thankfully it healed.

Aw bless you. thankfully I don't think it's infected now,I cleaned it with warm salt water and a swab and dryed it, all that came out was mild red blood left over. its just sore and bit red as it's a tight stitch I rekon, as is the one below it too.

Thankyou for your help I hope you don't have to go through that again.
