Cut a long story short, ive had numerous laps for endometrosis and was also diagnosed with pelvic congestion syndrome few years back. Last year i had a total hysterectomy leaving my ovaries but i had a ovarian vein embolization to relieve pelvic pain. With persistent cycle symptoms it was decided that only my left ovary be removed due to my age (32) which i had done 3 weeks ago. I really want to know how people have recovered from a oophorectomy as im starting to worry because this recovery is different to all the others ive had in the past. Usually i bounce back quick even after the hysterectomy but this time Ive had chronic pelvic pain leaving me having great difficulty in walking and it dont seem to be easing daily. I have managed to push my follow on appointment forward but was wondering if this is normal and im just being impatient or whether maybe i have a adhesions or something else going on. Any experiences, advice would be really appeciated.

Unilateral oophorectomy recovery, really need some advice!
Sorry to hear you’re struggling. I’ve had unilateral oophrectomy - twice, but not hysterectomy. Each op slightly different, first time I had a very large dermoid cyst engulfing the ovary, and post op I was in horrific pain, so much so that they nearly took me back down to surgery from the recovery room, the weeks after that were a slow and painful recovery. The second time was much less painful, although whilst in hospital I was treated for sepsis as my temperature spiked and my abdomen was hot to the touch. Maybe phone gp just to check you haven’t developed an infection. Hopefully not. Listen to your body and go gently, all our surgeries are different depending on the state of our endometriosis, move regularly, but gently and if you need more time off work then take it. Best wishes
