Hi everyone, I’ve recently been diagnosed with endo and pcos. I’m struggling with irregular bleeding at the moment and I’m only having around a week every month where I’m not bleeding at all. Sex is also painful (my bf is amazing and so supportive luckily!) I’m waiting for surgery for both conditions and a few other appointments with an endo specialist nurse and also a different consultant who specialises in hormone rebalance.
Any advice on treatments that have helped with irregular bleeding? The combined pill gives me really really bad pain and the progesterone only made me quite depressed, so looking at other options!

Hi sorry to hear about what your going through I had endo removed weeks ago and I’ve been on the depo injection for nearly a year with no periods have you tried that? I had irregular periods all the time and unfortunately it’s taken me years to find something right for me x
Hey, bless you sounds though. It’s not pleasant I have both too. & sometimes it’s hard to determine what symptom is from which. With painful sex my gyne encouraged me to dilate I will private message you info of specific product but it has really helped me and actually enjoyed sex for the first time in years since using the product.
In terms of the pill I don’t know if you have thought about the coil, you can have one fitted where the hormones are local so only in your female parts, it may be worth doing a little research. I personally do not want the coil fitted so don’t have it. I’m on double mini pill because needed something stronger than just 1 to manage both conditions.
I also keep on top of things through diet. I get as much vitamins and nutrients as I can through food, Iv cut out dairy & reduced gluten & meat to a minimum.
Hey I have recently been diagnosed with endo too! I had my first lap a week ago today where they diagnosed stage 3 Endometriosis. I struggled beforehand with constant irregular bleeding and I was struggling with every single pill under the sun! The only one that suited me and didn’t make me either sick, depressed and cause migraines was Desogestrel which is a progesterone pill however it didn’t stop me bleeding and I bled randomly it was all over the place. I’m 17 and only had sex twice with my boyfriend, each time being horrendous, I’d shake and sweat in pain it was just the worst thing ever. My boyfriend has been amazing though throughout everything.
During my lap they fitted the mirena coil, have you every thought of this? So far it’s suited me however I am currently back in hospital due to severe sickness and pain however my blood tests and ct scan have come back clear so my consultant just thinks it’s my body’s way of healing.
I’ve heard such mixed things about the coil, it’s so difficult isn’t it because everyone is different! I mentioned the coil to my gynae and he said he wouldn’t recommend that for me but hoping I’ll have more options once I have the other appointments.
This is also what I have been recently diagnosed with, bless you. I find that hormonal treatment makes my symptoms a lot worse, but I've heard great things about having the coil fitted which could be worth asking about
I have the same diagnosis so you have my sympathy! I've just had the coil fitted and have had it in the past, it worked well before then I had a bad one but this one's still settling in so time will tell. The bad one was because of how it was fitted, this one was fitted while I was under for my lap so it was done right! Other than that, I eat in line with the Primal Blueprint, which I find really helps me to feel better, I've cut out caffeine except for green tea and I also take a good multivitamin every day, I did a lot of research and the most well rounded one that's affordable is Ultra Woman from Holland and Barrett. Hope you find something that works for you xx
