Hi, I get pains shooting down from my hip to my legs. It got worse after my surgery and the only thing Iv found that helps is heat, especially the bath. It takes the pressure out of my lower back and while in the bath the pain subsides. I’m waiting to see my dr to discuss.
Dear Tia unfortunately I do suffer with same pain as you are experiencing and likely it is sciatic Endo whereby the Endo is affecting the sciatic nerve. My symptoms began as yours on the right side 2 years ago before I was diagnosed with a large chocolate cyst on left ovary and had laparoscopy to remove cyst. At the time my lower back hip and leg pain was attributed to the cyst but since my op pain and Endo symptoms have become progressively worse so much so that I can hardly walk or stand and am housebound and generally very unwell and in constant pain day and night on maximum dosage painkillers. The pain in lower back hips and down both legs has been diagnosed as sciatic pain and am currently waiting for a consultant app at hospital but at present seems like months till I may get an appointment so am crying most of the time feeling very hopeless and useless. Endometriosis has basically taken my life away I have been unable to work since my op and am at point of possibly trying to get a private consultant app. I am sorry you are experiencing same pain and I would urge you to get a dr app asap and be really firm with them that you need a hospital referral don’t let your GP just prescribe painkillers to you and let it get worse which is what has happened to me. Make them listen to you and get help before you end up as I have. I hope this has helped a bit I haven’t posted on here before but I had to reply to you as hope it will help you. If you do a search on web for sciatic endometriosis you can read more about it and be prepared when you tell your GP. Good luck and my prayers are with you and hope your pain can be stopped 😥 if you need ask me any questions please do. I found an amazing helpful US Endo site on line called SpeakEndo which has helped me a lot emotionally it’s worth a look and has tips on what to tell your Dr so that they actually listen to how much pain you are in! Good luck stay strong don’t let this damn illness beat you 🌺☺️Xxx
I suffered with this. It actually turned out that I had adenomyosis. I had a lap in aug 2017 that diagnosed mild endo and showed signs of adeno. I had an MRI that confirmed the adeno. I had a hysterectomy in August 18. My surgeon said he couldn’t guarantee the pain would go but as I was quite sure I wanted to go through with the op he did it. (I had exhausted all other treatment options and have two children)
The sciatic pain and lower back, groin, hip and leg pains are all gone.
I am drug free and living a new life. I kept my ovaries due to my age, and I do get pain in them with ovulation. But it is not a patch on what I have suffered my entire adult life.
Maybe request an mri to rule out adeno? Has this ever been mentioned to you before?
I hope you can find a treatment that can help. My hysterectomy was last resort, but I couldn’t go on as I was getting so depressed and in constant pain. I really hope you find a solution x
I have the same things I found a heating bad or ice to help sometimes! Warm bath is a good distraction. Nothing really gets rid of it though sadly. Waiting on my surgery!
I also suffer from this pain mainly on the right side. I have tried a tens machine and it sort of works, takes the edge off. As others have mentioned heat is good, bath or heat pack, I also use a rub called deep heat night which seems to relax the area. I've recently tried some excercises / stretches and this seems to also help loosen and relax the area. Just you tube 'tight pelvic floor muscles'. Another way to relax the area is lying down and placing a tennis ball under your buttock check. Then prop your upper body up and use you weight to roll the tennis ball around, it releases all the muscles in the area which have a nerve pathway down the leg. Hope you get some relief.
