Hi just a quick one, has anyone else had a normal period even after getting the prostap injection?
I was given it in march and i had a lot of withdrawal bleeding, like brownish discharge for about 2 weeks and this i know was normal
I usually have my period mid month every month, and for the past 5 days i been getting extreme migraines, and badly constipated and on the 20th i see that im bleeding like a normal period, im not in agony or anything but i am just concerned if this is normal, i did ring NHS 111 yesterday just for reassurance but i never got a call back, i don't see my gynae till the end of the month and my gp arent the greatest in terms of answers. Anybody been in the same boat?

It took a couple of months for Prostap to have the full effect on me in terms of periods and bleeding. I think this makes sense because stopping your body's oestrogen supply isn't like flipping a switch! I had a full period sometime in the first 6 weeks after my first injection, then a light period the following month, then spotting the month after that, then nothing.
You might find it helpful (?) to know that when you first start Prostap, your body will initially try to create even more oestrogen in response to the drug before it gives up and stops, basically, so that phase is when the side effects can be the worst.
Migraines is a known side effect of hormonal treatment, but if they are worrying, do seek help. Not sure I've heard of constipation being a side effect of Prostap but it can be a side effect of endo.
Have a search through the forum answers, this has been asked relatively recently and might give you some reassurance. x
