Implant prolonged bleeding

Hello ladies!

Did anyone have a prolonged bleeding after 8 months of inserting the implant?

I've read that it takes 6 months for the body to get used to it then the bleeding might be regular. In my case it is the opposite. (Heavy and prolonged bleeding )

Anyone else?

I did, I take it off. The doctor said my body rejected the implant.

Going to take it off this week! But my GP told me I might bleed more after removing it. Hope that not happen!

Hi Sam,

I didn't bleed a lot after take it off however after that my belly was swollen and I find out fibroides in my úteros. So after remove it ask for a check-out. xxx

May I ask you, what other birth control are using now?

I am using nothing. I am waiting my lap and they will put mirena but I am not in a relationship so I don't think I have a chance to be pregnant. Lol

I tried the implant twice and had extremely heavy bleeding non stop for over 6 months both times, I stopped bleeding around a week after having them taken out! Best thing that's helped me is the merina coil, I had about 2 weeks of bleeding when I had it put it and now I have small light periods and no where near as painful as they would of been without it xx

Hi Emily!

Glad to hear that! Actually my gynaecologist mentioned that they will give me the merina coil during my laparoscopy instead of the implant. Hope it works with me as well.
