Recovery time for bladder after a laparoscopy?

Hi all,

Hope you are all having a good day pain-wise.

I suppose I’m looking for a little reassurance on this post. I’m nearly 2 weeks post-op from my 6th laparoscopy and this one was a big one where my consultant really went to town excising as much endo as possible including from my bladder.

Generally healing well, energy levels still low but that’s quite normal and pain manageable. However I’m experiencing a lot of bladder pain like my bladder has gone into shock. I didn’t have to be catheterised in the hospital as I spoke to my consultant at length regarding this as I have interstitial cystitis and was worried a catheter would cause some major issues. And actually I was able to pass urine fine after the surgery and am still able to now.

My problem is just that my bladder feels really bruised and inflamed and any little thing is currently setting it off making me very uncomfortable. I’m wondering what other people’s experiences are for healing-times for their bladder?

Diet wise I’m already practically following the complete endo diet including avoiding all caffeine, alcohol, sugar etc. But if there are any other dietary tips that may help I would be happy to hear them.

Thank you so much 😊 xxxxx
