Constantly explaining yourself

Does anyone else feel like your constantly explaining to the people around you why your tired why your in pain why your feeling all over the place and carnt concentrate right why you some days dnt want to get up and out of bed. I’m sick of people just thinking “I’m on my period” and that’s all I found out Friday that they want to give me a hysterectomy so my consultant advices I have another child as soon as. When I have explained this to my friends and family not one person has asked how do I feel about it or showed any concern about the hysterectomy all the comment on is do you want a baby so close to your wedding. Inside I’m falling apart and feel so heart broken by it but no one seems to care about that

Hey hermr123,

get your family this book, and that will increase their understanding and awareness: "The Doctor Will See You Now" Author Tamer Seckin, M.D.

written by one of the best endometriosis doctors in the world, and helps everyone to understand endo. Couldn't be a more satisfying purchase.

Thankyou I think they all think they understand it and they think it just a bad period. If I’m honest I dnt think they would read it they seems to think they understand and it’s just something I need to deal with. Would you say it would be a good read for me

100% a good read for you. If your family doesn't bring you the comfort you very much need, well you'll get comfort and certainly increase your understanding of endo from this seriously good book. After all, this doctor that wrote it understands your pain, and explains it all, having operated on his patients for 30+ years, using the 'golden standard'. For me, i loved this book, I live in a family who seriously didn't understand my endo, and thought i was mental (how much worse could you get!), so i left this book lying around the living room, and sure enough a few family members picked it up and some have read it from cover to cover....made me feel so much better, helped some of them to be more open and starting the conversions about any and all my pain i've been in. It just woke them up to my painful world. Cos they didn't want to talk to me about it, but they sure believed this book.

Also look at this for total quality, peace of mind, detailed website, around your endo etc etc: its the website of that book: drseckin.com/ really trust worthy source of endo info on that one.

Endo of the day, If you're still sore, you need to increase your understanding of endometriosis and learn how to control your pain better etc.

And I notice you mention hysterectomy, I hope you're aware this is totally last resort material, after you've been to a seriously seriously skilled doctor first. I totally understand your pain, but, I'm not sure what 'stage' you're at in view of how many surgeries you've had and where the endo is located, but education is King when it comes to removing your endo pains. ....all the best and I hope I've helped a wee bit.....xxxx

It is the last resort my consultant has tried every treatment possible since I was 19 I’m now 25 iv even had a mix of a few treatments she has given me three laparoscopies to remove the endo and each time it’s Grown back rapidly my consultant and me was dead set against a hysterectomy due to my age but no treatments works most make it worse I carnt be on any contraception as it Makes my endo worse and I’m on more then I’m off my periods last 4-6 weeks at a time with a one or two week break and I carnt cope anymore they want to proform the op as soon as possible but I get married the beginning of next year and do not want to start trying now and be pregnant on my wedding day I’m heartbroken I’m luckily enough to have children but to be told I will not have anymore hurts so much it feels so final

Oh, sorry to hear this,

often gynecologists are not 'skilled' enough to remove 'all the endo', hence why they suggest hysterctomy. this may not be the case of your doctor. For your sake I hope you could visit Dr Seckin anyway, after all he does some of the most complicated surgeries for endo. I feel you current surgeon has done a good job, but perhaps do some research for another better surgeon. I just hope for your sake you sort your endo another way. Another idea i had, was get a second opinion from another really good gynecologist. Could I ask, how did your surgeon remove your endo? Burning it off or cutting it off via deep-exicison surgery or laser?? as cutting it off is the best method and if done well can prevent pain for 5 years, I've just had someone tell me in one of my posts....see my previous posts.....Remember, there must be a better way, okay!!!! :-) Do not be heartbroken by 1 gynecologists feeling that they don't have the skill set to remove your endo and endo pain....all they're telling you is that they're not skilled enough, its time to change gynecologists, to a more advanced level. I hope you understand my ramble..xxxxxxx

sorry i forgot to say, burning off the endo causes the endo to grow back way faster, i hope you didn't have this treatment...if you did, run a mile from your current gynecolgist....if you know what i mean.....xxxx

I think it was burnt off if I’m honest the consultant I am with now is very good I asked for a new one after my first consultant offered me a hysterectomy when I was 19 with out trying any threatments. It’s all so confusing and hard to understand I feel like I carnt cope with it all sometimes it’s such hard work xx
