Due to have second surgery following diagnosis of severe Endo which has adhered to my ovaries and bowel. I had been contemplating asking whether they could do a hysterectomy and just take it all away but the more I am reading up on it all and learning about the condition i think I have discovered that having a hysterectomy may not stop the Endo. Is this correct?

Hysterectomy?
It's not guaranteed, firstly they will need to remove every microscopic bit of endo then manage hormones, (I'm on combined patch), think it really depends on your age and how bad the endo is as to whether to take the chance, my endo removal was horrendous and couldn't put up with that recovery every 2years so I opted.
Hi, I'm in the same boat. I'm riddled with stage 4 endo which is also on my bowel and I can't seem to manage the symptoms any more. I'm really considering a hysterectomy, but from what I have read and from speaking to other sufferers, a hysterectomy does not guarantee an end to it all if there is endo in other areas like the bowel. Many people say that zoladex injections are a better alternative! I'm planning to discuss the whole should I/shouldn't I have a hysterectomy issue with my consultant next week. I'd be happy to share anything she says that's useful!
Thank you I have been on the zoladex since October last year and so far it is working for me in that I haven't had any pain which was out of control before I had my first operation. I have found a lot of negative comments regarding the zoladex but personally the pros outweighed the cons. Hope your appointment goes well and anything you could pass along would be great.
Hi Purplecard, I just wanted to check in and ask if you came to a decision about having a hysterectomy? My appointment with my consultant was cancelled so I'm no further along than I was 4 months ago. I have since spoken to quite a few people who say they're pleased with their hysterectomy results, so I am seriously considering it!
