Lapro recovery - can't sit up!

Came out of lapro Endo surgery day and a half ago. The gas in still in me and every time I move it feels like my organs are shifting around . Question: will this feeling go once the gas passes?

Also, I had 4 ports done and my stomach muscles feel broken. How long does it take for unassisted sitting up?

Hey, hope you're doing as ok as can be. The gas is pretty rough isn't it, took me about a week and a half to shift it completely. Lots of peppermint tea and I also found that the peppermint capsules Colpermin were really helpful to ease it. It was probably about 4-5 days when I could sit up from lying flat and then that side of things improved quite quickly. I had 4 portz too and had quite a bit of excision. 3 & a half weeks on I'm definitely improving but can still find quite intense pains and feeling quite congested down there still. Take it easy (not much choice eh) but do get up for little walks and moving around as I was advised this a lot and it really does help with the gas and reducing risk of DVT too ( I had to build up in 3 minute increments up to 2 x 21 mins walks before I was allowed to take my stockings off. ) Best of luck and best wishes for a smooth recovery x

Ah thanks for your reply and advice, I look fwd to 3 days time... Yeah my other concern is trying to stop my cats jumping on to my stomach while I'm in bed (not that it was every the most comfortable thing) ... Or then leaping onto my shoulders while I'm shuffling around bent over! They are good company though.
